Arrival Story:
A Vet I work with occasionally, has a friend who works for animal control & they found her wandering the streets alone in January, they had her for about 10 weeks. No one came to claim her so we decided to adopt her into our family. We brought her home 3-21-09, my wedding anniversary. What a great gift!
Bio:
Luci is a funny girl, when she's holding a toy or ball she will rear up like a horse & then hop up in the air & bounce around. She's a lot of fun, I can't understand why nobody came to claim her, she's a wonderful, well mannered dog. The only thing I can think of is maybe her previous owners lost their home & couldn't keep her. When we first brought her home she didn't know how to go up the stairs to the second floor. Linus was so scared he would run upstairs & Luci would run around the corner wondering when he had disappeared to, it took her a long time to figure it out. She was a little chubby (71.5 lb) when she first came here but now she runs a lot with Doc & has trimmed up nicely. She has a waist now. ( 5/31/09, Oops! after Luci got a hair cut I discovered she is not fat! Just a big girl!)

I've been at my new home for almost 6 months now. I've had a lot happen since I've been here. I don't like to travel much,but I'm learning how to do that & there is fun things when we get there. I've been camping, & been to the river lots of times. The ride was scary at first but the last time wasn't so bad. Everybody else runs for the truck & jumps right in. I'm learning though, & I like to ride in the front seat better, not so scary.

I love my new home! Not that my old home was bad, but I used to live in the city, and I was kinda fat & lazy but not anymore. Now I'm in the country, the woods! My dad doesn't work much right now & he's outside a lot, he throws the ball all day for Doc & me. I can go outside anytime & I can run as much as I want to. It feels so good! My mom says I've got my girly figure back, after all I'm only 2. My new family is home a lot with us & I love that. Even Linus lets me come & smell him a little. I'm so glad I was adopted to this family, it's much better than roaming the streets in Sacramento dodging cars.
