Yesterday was a strange day. My foster parents took me for a ride in the car and we ended up in a city I had never been in. I met a family, their 2 dogs. We went for a walk and then I went into their backyard. My foster parents stayed for about an hour and a half and then left. I had a sleepover at this new home. The next day they came back and saw that I was feeling right at home. They said goodbye and now I have a new family! I love my family, and I know they will love and spoil me for years to come. My foster parents brought me a nylabone from their home, and my winter jacket, and I know they will miss me too. But, I must say, this new home is much better, no bossy/grouchy chihuahuas around! Yay!
This morning I got up early and my dad took me to walk around Petsmart while Chloe was in class. I did pretty well with all the sounds and people. I used to be very skittish. Now I'm learning that the world isn't scary like when I was living on the street.
I also got a bath, which I love because then I get brushed and receive a lot of attention. My hair was even blow dried on low setting and I wasn't scared. Then mom took me to Home Depot where I got to sit in a shopping cart. I was a bit wary at first but then I was fine. People came by and I got treats. Finally I went running with my pack and I was pooped. However, the day isn't over. Later today someone is coming to see me because maybe they will adopt me. I am hopeful that I will be the right fit.
Oh, what a dreaded day. Two weeks ago I was taken to a place where I got poked with a needle! I growled and tried to get away because it hurt. My foster mom says I have to go back next week for more shots. Grrrrrrr. Then I have to get, what? Neutered! NOOOOOO! She said it is necessary before finding me a new home.
I've been gettting used to the routine around here. I like going running while my foster parents pedal their bikes. I am usually the fastest of my foster siblings. Yesterday we all got baths, it was good afterwards because for some reason I took a great nap after I dried off. My fur is getting softer, probably because of the steady healthy meals. I don't beg for food anymore, and I sit for treats now. My foster mom says I'm smart, that's why she calls me Einstein. Also because of my messsy hair.
