Some News!

Well, all, I have some news - it's a little good and a little sad. Ma and Dad found me a new home. Now, before everyone gets all upset, please don't be!! Ma set out to find me the best home possible, and she really did. I am staying at my new house at the moment - Ma got a "24 Hour Update" tonight and I am doing great! I live with a two-year-old Springer Spaniel named Olie, a kitteh, some birds, and a mom and dad. I live WAY out in the woods where there are no neighbors or trucks or trailers or four wheelers or snowmobiles to make me nervous.

The main point is that my new people are home a LOT, so I won't have to be in my kennel much. Ma said it wasn't fair that I was so anxious when her and Dad left that I had to be kenneled all the time. She felt so guilty every time she left the house. I just need more attention than her and Dad can give right now.

Anyway, so far things are going great and I am LOVING it out here - I have someone my size to play with, I get two walks a day, and I love snuggling on the couch! It sounds like my new mom might wanna get involved on Dogster, too, so I might still get to come play!! We will keep everyfur updated and try to get some new pictures up. (Ma was going to take some of Olie and I when we met, but it was too dark.) I LOVE YOU ALL!!

Whoopsies!

Maybe it's the snow, maybe the night air, but I was bazonkers after Ma let me in the house after my bedtime business! I was zooming like crazy and jumped on top of Shula where she was resting on the couch. (She didn't like that much.)

Ma was getting really mad because I was picking a fight with Shula and barking and growling and slamming into things - she didn't want me to wake up Myles. She stood between me and Shula and told me that was enough, so I did stop, but when I jumped off the couch the last time, I landed funny on my foot. Now I won't put any weight on my bad leg. OOPS. So, Ma told me to go lay down and rest, which I am. After that, I will be be as good as new!

A good night's sleep, then GOOD MORNING, WORLD!

Bigowie on my Footsie!

Well, maybe not a bigowie, but it looks kinda yucky! Tonight Ma saw me sitting by the back door, licking my paw a LOT, which is unusual. When I lifted my head up, she could see something bright red on my paw and ran to me. I have a very big, red bump between my first and second toes!! Ma and Dad figure I must have gotten bit by something, because I didn't go for a walk or run today.

I'm not limping or anything, and I did let Ma look at it a LITTLE bit since it doesn't hurt too much. But we are wondering what to do for it. There is no break in the skin or anything and I am walking on it. Do you guys think this warrants a vet visit? Anything Ma should try to put on there? Mostly she is worried that it is annoying me. Silly Ma! She worries way too much. BOL!

Mmm, Yummy! Thanks for all the BBQ!

Our family just wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to all our furiends who left us goodies. It got a little out of control (in a good way!) so it's too hard to send individual thank yous! We are fat and happy!

Psycho Labbie?

Ma says I had a psychotic break yesterday. She figured it would come some day cuz she says I'm nuts!

All of a sudden, I couldn't stop licking. I licked the floors from one end of the room to another (part of the tile started coming up!), I licked the woodwork, Ma's pants, myself, and all the carpets. Ma finally held me up and told me to stop, but I couldn't! So, she took me to my water dish and told me to drink, so I did, then I started on the floor again.

Then Ma put me outside and watched me. I started eating grass like a COW! Mouthful after mouthful I ripped up and swallowed. Dad had just cut the grass, so I was eating the clippings. Ma figured that meant I had a tummy ache, so she left me out in case I needed to throw up. I never did, and I started acting normal again, so we went to the beach.

When we got home, Ma wanted to take a nap, so we all laid down in the bed room. Sure enough, URKA GURKA SPLAT! Ma figured the worst, but when she peered over the edge of the bed there was just a tiny ball of grass. I have been acting fine ever since.

Ma says if I have another one of those episodes, one of us will probably be heading to the looney bin!!!

Should I scratch the itch?

Ma isn't sure what to think - last night I was shaking my head like CRAZY! Over and over and over. I wasn't doing it during the day at all, though, and I'm not scratching. So she isn't sure if my ears are bothering me again, or if maybe I just have a bug bite or something. I'm sleeping with Dad right now, so she doesn't want to bug me, but later she will inspect my ear and make sure there isn't any funny business.

I'll let you know who wins THAT wrestling match. BOL!

Marshmallooooowww!!

Have you guys ever had one of those?? They are FUN! Grandma and Grandpa and Auntie Carla came over last night for a fish fry, and we had another fire in the yard! The humans made s'mores again, and Grandma gave Shula and I a marshmallow!

Shula scarfed hers down right away, but I wasn't quite sure if it was food or a toy. But I did know that Shula wanted it - so I started throwing it in the air and dancing around it like a cat! Shula was getting soooo mad! BOL!

After a whole lot of playing, I finally decided to eat it. Yummy!!

Water Fun!

On Monday, it was almost 70 degrees at our house! That is nutso for April. Anywho, Ma and Aunties Brynn and Eszter took Lillie and me to the beach to play in the water. Boy, was that fun!! They threw us sticks and we swam after them and splashed and ran around!

There were some people on the docks, putting their boat in the water, and I went to to them and barked a bit, but I was too shy to say hello. When I was running up the hill, back to Ma, I twisted my leg a bit and let out a big YELP!! Ma ran over to check on me, but didn't see any injuries. I kept running and running.

Then I was limping for the rest of the night, and yesterday after a walk. I seem to be ok today. I hafta say, it was worth it!!

My Gotcha Day!

Yup, can you believe that it's been one whole year already? One year since the day Dad decided to visit the shelter and felt so sorry for me sitting in my cage quietly while all the other dogs were barking. I think it's been a long year for my pawrents, but I am so happy they never gave up on me!

So far, I've gotten to sleep on the bed with Dad and I went running in the field with Auntie Eszter and Uncle Brendan! Hopefully later I will get a cheeseburger.

Thank you to all my wonderful Dogster furiends - you bring so much happiness into my life!!

That's what Ma calls me when I start limping. I have that funky leg in the front, and sometimes if I'm running lots I will start limping on it. Well, after Shula and I played WWF in the living room today (see her diary...) I wouldn't walk on it AT ALL. I finally just laid down and rested, which Ma said was good. I'm walking on it ok now, so it was probably just twisted.

Ma made an appointment at the dogstor's office for next week to have him look at my ear, so if the leg isn't 100% by then, he will look at that, too. She said something about getting my nails trimmed while we're there - sheesh, woman, that's enough already!!
