It's Never Too Cold To Swim!

My momma says it are too cold to swim just because da high were in da 50s dis weekend. But it are in da 80s today! Momma says dat means da water are all cold now and dat I was lucky I gotta play in October at all. I think she are just being a meanie.

And da worst thing is dat she are still swimming! She are not swimming at home in our pool, she are putting on a swimsuit and going somewhere else. Probably to play pool ball with other dogs. She says she are just doing exercise. See, she got dis really bad heel pain, it are called plantar fasciitis or somethings. You can get it from too much standing and jumping and stuff. Pro athletes like Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant has had it. She are not even really supposed to be walking me, but she are cheating, so I are not being too deprived. But she can't do her exercise tapes, so she are swimming for exercise. She used to be a competitive swimmer when she were younger, so she likes da swimmy stuff a lot. I don't know why I can't go with her, but she says dere are no dogs allowed in dat pool. I'm not sure I believe her.

Anyways, other dan da lack of pool time, I's been doing ok - lotsa fun things to bark around here like da mailman, da UPS guy, da dachshunds, da squirrels, and just well, barking for no reason too! I just need to bark my momma into letting me swim.

I think you should be the one to decide when the water is too cold to go swimming. Surely you would not jump into a bunch of ice water - would you?

Hope your momma's foot feels better soon.

I did try to go swimming in November when it were very cold when I were a baby puppy, so momma do not think I are da best judge of things.

I know you want to swim, but I think Momma knows best. I sure hope her heel gets better, my Mom had that too and knows it's painful

I still don't understand why any pup would voluntarily go into the water, but since you do, I think your momma should get a pool heater so you can swim all year. As far as the cost, you are certainly worth keeping happy with all the guard work you and Finley do around the place. Also then your momma would not have to leave to swim. I think that is the best solution. My first Mom has that "plant your facey" thing too.

Speaking from the perspective of a sled dog, water is never too cold as long as you want to go into the water. I think it is just a sneaky way for the humans to give us a bath! I think the solution to this problem is as simple as your front paws ... you and Coco Rose need to start digging. Then you would have your own pool and your Mommy would not have to leave and you and Coco Rose can swim to your heart's content!

DFB, I's may be fluffy, but I's not Puffy! And I lives with Finley - I don't need another pup to have to be "sharing" my toys with. And we has a pool, it are just dat momma are saying it are too cold to use.

We do like to do what we want to do. But, as you saw in my sisfur's diary from today, our pawrents do know what is best fur us and we have to listen to them. They keep us safe & healthy. Love to you my pup pal!!
