making new friends

Mom's sister moved into the guest room for the summer.. she's gives really good belly rubs. So now I have company all day instead of just when dad's on his lunch break. Mom and dad are FINALLY settled in and I'm getting more and more comfortable with my new surroundings. There's lots of room for me to run all around but the best part is the backyard.. I love rolling in the grass (much to mom's dismay) and trying to scare the ducks. I met the baby pitbull that lives next door. He's about half my size but he's fiesty and can play for hours, but mom usually breaks it up quicker than I like. While talking to his owner, mom found out that some of the neighbors aren't too fond of pits, which is silly but I'm getting used to this attitude, so I need to stay on my best behavior while going for walks and not attract unwanted attention. Pfft... nosy people with opinions on things they don't understand.

I'm all squeaky clean. Mom gave me a bath last week but everyone was still calling me stinky, so she took me to a groomer and now I smell so good that mommy won't stop hugging and kissing me. I hate car rides, but on the way home I was in a much better mood and didn't even mind. I got the works.. ears, nails, teeth, they shampooed and conditioned. Daddy is going to be so proud when he gets home.

I'm getting used to the new house. Mom and dad are still unpacking so there are a bunch of boxes stacked in the living room.. they're so slow. Since most of the rooms are still empty I get to run around all over the house, but I usually prefer staying by mom. I've made some new friends, the neighbors and their dogs have all come by to welcome me. The lab that lives next door, Bob, is nice. But the pitbull a few houses down wasn't, I guess he doesn't like competition =P
