Almost A Year

This is a hard week for Mommy. This is the week one year ago that I had my surgery and I was so terribly sick. Next Tuesday, April 12th, will be my one year anniversary at the Rainbow Bridge. I watch her look at my picture on the refrigerator......she pets it the same way she used to pet me. Oh how I miss those ear massages she would give me! I miss Mommy and Daddy too, but I am young and free and healthy here at the Bridge. Someday we will all meet again. I just wish they wouldn't feel so sad. I hope they can feel my kisses in the wind when they are outside working in the yard.

Tribute To A Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.
