2nd Obedience Training Class - I passed another one!

Hi Everyone!

I went to another Obedience Training class! The nice people at the 3M Dog Obedience Training Club sponsored me =)

I had a lot of fun and learned some new tricks and techniques. I learned about this thing called "clicker training"; pretty awesome! I did really well in class and met lots of nice puppies and doggies too. My foster antie says going to these types of classes is good for my socialization skills and it also helps me learn more so that I can be a super great pittie!

Today was the last day of class - graduation - yippee! This was my best class day of all! I did all the tricks almost perfectly....I'd say on a scale from 1-10 (with 10 = best)....I scored about a 9!!! The resident cat was hanging out beside the dog ring....but I didn't get distracted by him...I was paying attention my foster antie the entire time!

The last part of class, we had a contest. The trainer scattered a deck of cards all around the ring, with the cards facing up. Then she told us and our peoples' to go to each card - at the red cards, we had to "sit"; at the black cards, we had to do a "down". Every time we did the right command with our people, we got to collect the card and whoever got the most cards would win. My antie and I were super competitive, so we were going real fast during the contest! I had some problems with the "downs" 'cause I don't like to downs on the floor and get my belly wet/cold....but we did really well because we won the contest! I collected the most cards out of the class - I was so happy!

At the end of class, the trainer called each of us up to receive our Certificate and let each of us pick a toy from the toy basket! That was so cool - I picked a gigantic pink and yellow tennis ball b/c I LOVE balls! As soon as I came home, I showed it to my foster grandpa and grandma - I was so proud!

New dog group =)

My mom and I joined a new dog group - it's called "The Average Dog - a group for dogs of all breeds and sizes" (but, it's really a group of GREAT DOGS!....I was tellin' my mom that she should suggest they change the name to "The Great Dogs"!).

This was a really fun group and I had a lot of fun! I got to play off leash with a bunch of other doggies. My mom's friend's little Pomeranian - Gizmo - went with us. He and I had loads of fun! There were some dog trainers in the ring to watch us kids and my mom and the other doggy parents got to visit with each other and drink wine and eat h'or dourves (I got a few of those h'or dourves too when I peaked at the table and smelled how good they were...I just jumped up real quick and took a couple...hee....hee). My mom watched over me though...she hung out with us kids by the ring =)

Before playing with the other doggies in the ring, I made sure to introduce myself to the all the other doggie owners, like a good girl! I loved all the attention from the peoples!

When we were all done, the group gave each of us doggies a little gift bag, with some yummy natural treatsies!

I had such a good time, my mommy said she would take me again!

I had the best time playin' with my new friend, Kya! Kya is a mixed lab doggie and is my mom's friend's little girl. I got to go to her house and we played and played and played! They have a really big yard and we got to run outside - we ran around and around and chased each other! It was so much fun =)

By the time we were done running, we were so tired, we both just laid down outside in the yard next to each other. I got to spend the night at Kya's house too! The next day, my mom told me it was time to go and got my portable kennel ready in our car. I ran to my mom at the car, gave her a kiss, told her to "come pick me up later", and then ran back to Kya! But my mom said we had to go home , so I got into my kennel. Kya came and said goodbye to us too =(

The whole day I was still super tired from playing with Kya and just slept on the couch!

Hi Everyone-

I completed my obedience training - woof, woof! I did really well during all of the tests - I got a report card with some very good markings too! I would have gotten all very good markings, but there was some "operator handling errors" - my foster antie couldn't figure out what to do during some of the tests=(

Popcicles for leggs and icicles on my tail?!

Brrrrrrrrrrr............that means really, really cold in people sounds!

This whole week in Minnesota it has been super cold; one day it was
minus 20 degrees below zero outside!!! I'm a freeze baby and I don't likes it when it's that cold outside=( Since I'm such a good girl, I still go outside and potties (no accidents in the house yet), but I go really fast so that my leggs and pawsies don't freeze! Then when I come in from the outside cold, I get really energetic and run zoomies all over the house as fast as I can....I love running zoomies!

I had school this week! It was pretty fun - I got lots of attention from peoples who came and visited with me after class b/c they heard that I'm a really good girl available for adoption! They petted me and kissed me - I loved it! I rolled over and let them pet my belly for like 10 minutes!

It was too cold for me in class, even with my pink and white jacket on! It was so cold that I didn't want to do any "downs" on the floor b/c my belly would touch the ground and freeze! I would only do "downs" on the carpeted mat. In class, we did a lot of practicing on heeling - I did real well on heeling; I can walk faster, slower, and regular pace during heeling. That was a pretty easy one for me!

We also practiced "formal recall" - that's when I'm at one end of the rink and my foster antie is at the other end of the rink and the trainer holds my leash and when my antie says "Blueberry come", I run to my antie! My antie and I already practiced this trick befores, and I can do real well when I'm not distracted (I'm still only a puppy too!) I did it ok in school, but I was real distracted b/c there was this one guy sitting on the sidelines next to where my antie was standing and he left his canister of hot dog treaties open on the floor.....soooooooo, when my antie called me... I started to run to her, but then smelled the hot doggies on the floor! I thought that since he had them on the floor in an open container that it meant it was an open invitation for me to help myself!

I'm gonna go now to lay down on the couch and curl up with two blankies and a pillow....two blankies b/c it's so cold up here in MN!
