What a beautiful morning. The Sun is shining in the office and Priscilla and I are basking in it's rays in our new beds.
Oh yeah. Mom bought us each a new bed. I've had a small bed for years (turns out it was a cat's bed - what were you thinking Mom?) that sits on Mom's bed in the corner and all of a sudden about a month ago Priscilla had the audacity to start using it. Can you believe the nerve of her. So Mom decided to get us each a larger bed. So now both of our beds are on top of Mom's bed with snuggly blankets on top. It is heaven.
At bedtime Mom puts our beds in the kitchen and we snuggle under the covers with Mom in her bed. Mom says she feels like an Oreo sandwiched between the two of us. But she wouldn't have it any other way. We sleep in a twin bed so it is cozy but just big enough for the three of us. Mom's bed is in her office in a sunny part of the house and only a twin bed will fit in there. The real bedroom is now Mom's sewing room. We enjoy that room during the day when the sun moves.
Mom did say she can't wait for warmer weather so we can have a bath. Is that a polite way to say we stink Mom? We tolerate baths but we don't like them. Mom is devious, she suddenly picks one of us up, puts us in the bathtub with her and shuts the glass door. We are trapped. But the torment doesn't last long and we come out smelling a whole lot better.
Should be 40 degrees today, hopefully it will melt more of that 9.5 inches of snow Mother Nature gifted us with on Thursday night. Mom shoveled the paths and city sidewalk but refuses to do the driveway. She says enough is enough and as long as she had a three day weekend she is waiting for it to melt, she doesn't really need to go anywhere until Monday. It's been a horrible winter but I think the end is near.
Enjoy your sunbeams my friends.
