 Likes: His human "dad", Joe

Pet-Peeves: Puppies hanging off his ears like earrings!

Favorite Toy: A puzzle bone

Favorite Food: What have you got?

Favorite Walk: So far, he's only been around our neighborhood

Best Tricks: Sit & down -- he takes medicine like a pro!

Arrival Story: My husband met him at the humane society while he was taking our puppies for a follow up visit. He bonded with him, & said something told him he HAD to save this dog!

Bio: Charlie had at least 2 homes we know of, at the first, when the kids became teenagers, they got tired of him & used to yell at him and hit him when he would come for affection. He was brought to the humane society during the hottest summer weather in the covered back of a pick-up. He suffered heat-stroke, & subsequently had a seizure. At his second home, he had another one, was put on medication, and then returned to the humane society because they couldn't afford it (about $40/month). Not surprizingly, he has separation anxiety problems. We have had him for only 1 and 1/2 weeks, but he is becoming one of the best dogs ever!

Its been a long time since I could get to a computer, but we finally have an update! I sure do LOVE my home here!!! In the good weather I get to go for a walk FIRST every morning with mom. We go in the dark before almost anyone else gets up. We usually go for a mile, & every so often we'll stop & she gives me a couple of "Charlie Bears" or a "Chicken Snack"! When we get most of the way back to the house, she lets me off the leash, and says, "Come on, Charlie, Lets go H-O-M-E!!! I sure do love that word. Sometimes at night, and especially early in the morning I get invited to sleep in the big bed! It really is soft on my sore back & hips.
Just wanted to let everyone know that things are really wonderful now, so they won't worry about me.
Charlie.

I have been with my new family for about 1 month now, it just gets better & better! One of my seizure medicines was reduced, & I don't have to take it any more (it tasted really bad). Now I just have a pill to take twice a day. We found out yesterday that I have severe hip dysplasia. They started me on Deramaxx, & I can run & walk sooo good now! I don't drag my feet at all like I used to. I really love this vet. My family is going to be forever fosters with the Humane Society so they can afford all my care -- that way the Humane Society gets a discount from the vet, & they can make donations to the Humane Society.
One of my new brothers (Joey) also has hip dysplasia, but he's younger so it doesn't bother him as much yet.
My golden brother (Duke) & I were really sick last week -- one of us threw up about a gallon on the sofa (mom & dad don't know who did it, lets just keep it that way). The vet said there was a virus going around. We couldn't eat for a couple of days, but we're ok now.
