Yup, I did that

I don't like sleeping in my crate. When momma says "ni-night" Coco Rose runs into her crate, but I refuse to go into the sewing room so momma has to physically carry me there and then put me into my crate. Coco Rose has taken to barking at night to get one of the humans to let her up for water or to use the bathroom. The other night, Coco so nicely let herself out of her crate, then had the nerve to come over to my crate and laugh in my face before she climbed up on the daybed and went to sleep next to MY momma.

I was upset I tell you! I barked and carried on but neither of the humans got up. I finally peed in my crate. The next morning when daddy let me out, I climbed up on the daybed and proceeded to give my momma sweet doggy kisses. She immediately felt I had a wet paw, got up and felt my mattress in my crate. The fact that it was soaked confirmed her guess.

Momma took the mattress out of my crate, removed the soggy foam and sprayed it with some stuff that is supposed to remove the urine smell. She put the mattress cover in the washing machine and, are you ready for this? Gave me a bath!!!!!

This is the third bath I've had within one week. The whole time momma was bathing me, she was muttering under her breath that she had to go to work and didn't have time for this $#&@. I just looked at her with my cute doggy face and gave her kisses. She then got out the blow drier and dried my hair and combed it out. I looked and smelled really nice.

Hopefully that will teach the humans to let me sleep with my momma! I don't like sleeping in the crate.

Don't throw that away

For dinner tonight momma and daddy were having smoked pork chops and fried rice. Of course I parked my behind right by mommas chair and staired at her and silently begged for a tasty sample of her dinner. Simba Blue was sitting on the other side of mommas chair, and he was swatting her with a paw to let her know that he too wanted a taste. Momma gave us some but I wanted more. She still had a big piece of meat left on her plate but you will never believe what she did - I hope you are all sitting down...

She threw it away!!! Yup, she said something about me being fat enough and threw that tasty pork chop away. There ought to be laws againt doing such terrible things.

It's hot outside

It has been over 100 degrees here in lovely Southern California. Didn't do anything today except sleep on the big bed and watch tv with momma. Oh yeah, I also ate all of the kitty food, so much for my diet - BOL

The doctor said what?

Momma got me up early this morning and took me for a car ride. I didn't really like it because I was not allowed to sit in Coco's car seat all because the last time momma let me do that, I climbed out and tried to work my way to the front of the car. I just wanted to be up front with my momma. This time, she put me in a carrier.

As we drove down the "back way" to the surprise destination, we saw hot air balloons up in the sky. Momma even pulled off the road so we could watch a few of them desend for a landing. Then it was back onto the road to the vet - YIKES, did momma say vet?

That's right, momma was taking me to the vet for my 6 month exam. Once we arrived, momma checked me in but being the smart fellow that I can be, I refused to walk for the assistant. I planted my chubby leggs and would not budge. The assistant had to pick me up and carry me into the dreaded hospital.

I was there for hours, and hours. Daddy came and rescued me around 2 in the afternoon. And what did the vet have to say?

Coat & skin - Bright & Shiny
Eyes - Bright and Clear
Ears - Clean & odor free
Mouth, teeth, gums - Tartar or inflammation
Lungs - Normal
Heart - Normal
Abdomen - Normal
Urogenital System - Normal
Anal Sacs - Empty/Normal
Musculoskeletal - Normal

Puffs current condition - EXCELLENT
Weight - Average

So, here's the thing, if my current condition is excellent and my weight is average, why did the vet attach a page regarding obesity to my records?

Puff - still a butterball but happy

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July at our house and momma said she is going to make sure I am watched because she has no idea how I will react to hearing fireworks going off.

Coco Rose and I are house dogs so we will be safe no matter what.

Happy Fourth of July to all.

I want them to prove it was me

Yesterday, my sister Coco Rose told everyone that I piddled on daddy’s carton of Coca-Cola's. For the record, there was absolutely no proof that I was actually the one who did that. Yes the carton was wet but you have to remember there are two cats and of course Coco Rose in our house, so there is always the possibility that one of THEM was the guilty party.

That's right, I am not admitting guilt, nor am I denying it either - BOL, BOL

So, here I was minding my own business, but being the momma's boy that I am, I went up to the bathtub while momma was lounging in the tub. The next thing I know, I found myself in the tub with momma.

I freely and unashamedly admit my undying love for my new momma, but I tell you, the next time I think she might have been swallowed up by that tub; I am not going to go close enough to find myself in the water with her. I think I tell Coco Rose to go look instead - BOL.

Daddy was working in the garage with a friend and he forgot all about Coco Rose and me so someone, and I'm not going to point paws, left a big wet puddle for him. Daddy didn't find it but momma did when she got home. The guilty party left it on the throw rug so now momma is doing some laundry.

Puff - not admitting guilt, but feeling sorry none the less.

Fathers day

I've never been a father: this my humans know for sure because the second home I was in had me neutered when I was just a little puppy, my humans received this paperwork with my adoption package. That was one of the best things that could have been done for me. I did not contribute to the unwanted pet population. I do not have to worry that any of my offspring were put to death in a cold and terrible pound because by chance one of them ended up in such a place. Yes, little puppies are cute, but not all have loving homes with people who will take care of them (this I know from experience and take it from me, it even happens to pure breed dogs).

Being a father is more than just breeding, so I say leave the "Fathers Day" to the humans.

Thank you Dogster for Diary Pick

Thank you Dogster for honoring me as one of the diary picks of the day. I have come a long way from being a dog no one wanted. As you know, I am a pure breed Maltese fellow and in my short five years of life I have had four different homes and ended up in a dog rescue facility. Because of all of the home changes I have had a hard time adjusting and as the humans say "getting into the hang of things".

When I came to live at my forever home, I was a scared, thin little dog that would sit and shake whenever my humans would leave me. With lots of love and training, I have grown (literally) into a chubby little butterball who is gaining confidence and enjoying what life has to offer me.

My life is really good now and I would like to bark out to others out there that it is possible to bring in another dog into the family without changing the dynamics of the existing family. My human momma was really concerned that Coco Rose, my doggy sister would be upset having another dog in the family because she is a spoiled little princess. Turns out Coco and I get along really well, even though she is a very bossy little gal. We have a few sprats, but nothing serious, and it usually pertains to me getting to close to one of her cookies.

I only wish that all of the dogs and cats that find themselves in the same place I once did, unwanted and caged, would be as lucky as I was and get a forever home and of course their own page on Dogster/Catster. Wouldn’t the world be wonderful if that happened?
