I am home trying to forget what happened to me today at the vet's office. When momma and daddy came to get Coco and the rest of the pack out of jail, a very nasty dog attacked me.
It all happened so quickly...I was being led out from one of the exam rooms and right outside the door is a scale used for weighing large dogs. There was an elderly man with two huge brown dogs. One was an over weight Boxer and the other looked like a Ridgeback but didn't have ridges on it's back so I'm not sure what it was.
All I know is that I saw daddy standing there and was so happy that I jumped up and went running out of the room towards daddy. The vet assistant had me on a leash and was holding on to it, but the elderly man couldn't control the big brown dog and it attacked me.
Right in front of everyone, it tried to kill me. It went for my neck and I peed and scrunched down so that it couldn't get me. The vet technician pulled be back by the leash and took me back into the back for the vet to check me over. My joy at seeing my daddy was cut short.
When momma found out what happened (she had been out at the truck putting in the extra food that they didn't use while we stayed there), and she nearly died. Coco and I had to have a bath when we got home to make sure we didn't bring home any bugs, but momma had to wash the pee and dirt off of me from the attack.
I'm now trying to forget the whole ordeal.
Cooper my pal, we are experiencing so issues with our Dogster Plus membership and we can not post the latest picture frame that you made for me. Momma has contacted Dogster and hopes to have everything resolved shortly. It will then get posted. Thank you like always for taking the time to make it for me. You and your pack are the BEST!
Poor Puff! There you were So Happy to get sprung from the vet jail, you rush to your Daddy and get attacked!
You better contact Whit and Fin for sum legal advice.
I say SUE EM!
That is a horror story! There you were all happy to go home and minding your own business and you get attacked. I think the vet should give you a big reduction on your next bill.
Zoe - I was soooooooo happy to see daddy. I never even stop to sniff the big dog, all I did was jump up and run towards daddy when suddenly I was attacked. Daddy said had I not squished down and flattened myself to the ground and had the Vet technician not reacted as quickly as she did to pull me back towards her with the leash, the nasty big brown dog would probably have seriously harmed me or even killed me.
Jelly - the humans could have used a discount today when they saw what it cost to re-fill my medications for four months - BOL, BOL. My two medications cost more than the bill for boarding the four of us for three days.
The man with the two big dogs was quite old and momma noticed his hands were trembling. He had a cane in one hand and was trying to control his dogs with the other hand. He sat away from the other humans with dogs and it really wasn't his fault that the scale to weigh the larger dogs is positioned between the two exam rooms, thus, his one dog was surprised to see me when the technician opened the one exam room door and I came out to give daddy some love.
I sure got scared but no real harm was done. I think Finley and Whitley would agree with me that there is no cause to sue him.
That's horrible - so glad you're ok Puffy!!! Have a great weekend fella!
Puffy - glad you made it through the possible massacre with nothing but some pee and mud (and probably slobber). Sorry for the trauma, but you have probably forgotten it since you are with Daddy now.
I'm sure the big dog owner felt very sorry his dogs got out of hand. It was nice of you to settle out of court instead of taking the expensive legal action. I'm sure the love and attention and extra SNACKS will sooth your soul.
The Papillon Pack
OMD Puff, I am so sorry this happened to you. Peeing was a good move. I'm so glad you are okay. Bless your little heart.
PUFF !! OMD !!! we are so glad you are ok ! that is really scary ! Mom never let me walk around strange dogs .. she always carried me .. because you just never know .. well , we are so happy you are ok !
Puff, how very scary for you and everyone involved. So happy that you were not hurt. These things can happen so quickly. Rest up now after your ordeal and we send lots of positive thoughts your way.
I was so upset to read that you had been attacked. Had I been there, I would have told that big dog to back off. Mommy can sympathize with the old man since she doesn't get around good either and can't even walk in holding Angel or me. One of my brothers goes with us to the vet so that they can hold our leash. I do think that the vet should make some kind of recompense to you because it is kind of the vet's fault--not just in the placement of the scale, but it is possible to arrange dog appointments so that the dogs don't "meet" each other. This is not just something to do be done to keep dogs from "fighting", but also to keep dogs from possibly catching diseases from other dogs.
Hmmm.... no reason to sue? Let's not be so hasty....
The elderly gent shouldn't have dogs he can't control and should only take one to the vet at a time if controlling them is a problem. He is obviously negligent. One of our pet peeves is people with more dog than they can handle.
But it is nice of you to take the high road. Momma sez they should have at least tried to clean you up before sending you home since they almost got ya killed....
Momma would have raised such a stink our vet bill would have been free dat day...lol!
Oh, Puffy, I'm so sorry this happened. You must have been so scared! I "surprised" a boxer once, just walking around a corner, and the same thing happened. I was just a baby then. It wasn't my fault, and it wasn't her fault, and it wasn't our mommies' fault. It was just a scary thing. Life is scary sometimes. I'm glad you weren't hurt!
(P.S. Mommy still hasn't gotten ovfur it, but I have! BOL!!)
Puff Puff Puff Puff Puff! We are so sorry you were victimized. Your bill should have been discounted - heavily! Call Monday morning and make a complaint. No one wants to start the week off with this hitting them in the face. Glad you were not hurt, just severely shake up.
OMD, dat are real scary! Glad you is ok.
That was some scary stuff alright!
Totally glad you're okay.
Aww, thanks for the compliment.
You all are the best, too, pal!
Hey, a Diary Pick today!
I left you a load o' bones to munch.
