We have been having intermittent torrential rains here in Cibola County of New Mexico, in fact, part of our area got flooded yesterday and some residents on one of the Native American reservation are cut off from entering and leaving their property. We have water washing down from other properties onto ours. Being rural, without having developed roads and properties means that the waters are loaded with dirt, sticks and other debris. Right now it is sunny with some scattered storm clouds in the distance but probably this afternoon the rains will again come.
The weather forecaster is saying that the rains are beginning to taper off but each time I think the mud outside is going to dry out, more rains come. Having rain is a good thing because we have been in a drought situation so we really did need the rains, but Sheesh, all at once?
Well, I better go make sure my water wings have air in them. Maybe I could borrow one of Toto’s Kayaks?
PS – Thank you Dogster for selecting my diary to be one of the featured diaries of the day (Did you hear that Coco? I’m featured, NOT you)! Pals, I know you all love me, but please save your zealies as the holidays will be here before you know it.
Puff, I wish you could send some of that rain here. It has not rained since sometime in July. Be careful out there. We know about floods and rural properties! Congrats on being a DDP. I am off to leave you some bones!!!

Hey Puffy...I LOVE U!!!!!Condogs on your many DDP's!!!!!
I bet Coco is so Jealous??????
Why does the rainies all come at once????????????????????
We have a year's worth in JUNE!Then dry dry and more dry!
We did have 3.35" in 2 different days of the past week. We needed it badly...very dry and fire risks were unfolding! Now everything is GREENIE! Gma or Gpa or both will have to mow everything off! If it's not one thing,it is another!
Guess what? It was only 47 last night and only 57 for the high today.............BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Too much outside work to still do!
Our rain stopped so I am sending that kayak right off to you!!! Congrats on your honor!!!
Abby - Thank you for the tasty bones, I have lots and will enjoy each one.
Zaidie - All this mud is causing me to have lots and lots of feetsie washes. Maybe momma can find me some wading boots.
Mazy - It wasn't this rainy last year when we moved to New Mexico so dealing with all this rain is completely new for us. Momma wants daddy to hurry up and fix us a nice court yard but he still hasn't finished the house and if he stops now it won't ever get done. Coco and I will just have to have lots of feetsie washes. It's getting colder here too. Momma got out the comforter for our bed but hasn't put on the electric blanket yet. You're lucky you have a momma that can grow stuff: our garden was a total bust and the only veggies we got were two very small tomatoes. Hopefully next year will be better.
Thank you Toto we had a very stormy yesterday with lots of rain and junk. The community next to us was flooded and three homes were lost and others damaged. Roads are impassible and people are being evacuated. The good news is the sun is again out so hopefully some of the water will disappear. Of course then someone will have to clean up all the mud - glad it's not going to be me - BOL
I hope you put some chickes in the Kayak in case I get stranded someplace.
