Well I’ve been on my pain medication for about one week now and although I am not limping as bad, I am still limping. The vet told momma that she can increase my medication from ½ a pill per day to one whole pill so that is what momma is going to do.
Some of my pals wanted to know why the vet didn’t suggest amputating my leg…first, because of my spinal injury my two hind legs do not operate fully thus taking the front leg away would make it very difficult for me to walk. Also, there is no telling just how far the cancer has traveled. It might be isolated only in the front leg but since I also have liver failure putting me under with anesthesia would be a death sentence in it’s self therefore the humans have elected to go with pain management only.
I’m up and about, playing, eating and of course sending out really nasty stink bombs – BOL, BOL. The only real noticeable difference is that I limp and stumble occasionally.
The good news is that the vet said because the tumor hasn’t been molested (biopsied) that should cut the rate of spreading. I have to go back and see her in two months for follow-up exams.
Thank you all for the prayers, candle and POTP on my page. I love you all!!!!!!
Now onto New Mexico news, this last week was nice and sunny, in fact, the sun had melted most of the snow away. Daddy took off the snow chains from his truck and we were able to drive safely without them although the melted snows had turned the dirt into mud. I for one don’t mind the mud and have been know to run right through it; Coco on the other hand walks daintily around it or will even jump over a mud puddle – BOL, BOL. Since the humans have been working only on the inside of the house and not the yard, all we have is mud, mud and more mud. Yesterday I had to have my feet washed three times because I came back up to the house with muddy paws after going outside to do my business – BOL. Once while momma was washing my feetsies she somehow got mud on my back so she ended up giving me a whole bath.
Today when we woke up the sun was gone and it was snowing hard again. Everything is once again covered with a layer of snow. Now I’m not complaining because we don’t even have one foot of snow and I know my pals on the East coast have been swamped with several feet of snow so I consider us lucky. However, it would be nice for all the snow to be melted, gone and the mud dried out so I won’t have to have my feetsies washed so much. I have to say I’m not really enjoying the laundry tub at all.
