03/31/12 What stupid thing will daddy do next?

Momma and daddy got up early this morning to go work on the trailer and daddy wasn’t out there for more than 30 minutes when both he and momma rushed back inside because he had injured one of his hands. When daddy unwrapped his hand, he had a very large and deep cut on one of his thumbs that was now bleeding profoundly. I went running into the bathroom with the humans and offered to help clean him up but was ushered out while momma was trying to clean daddy's owie and get it to stop bleeding.

Momma was telling daddy that he needs to go get stitches but he refused and instead wrapped it tight with gauze and then wrapped all that tightly with tape and went back to work on the trailer.

Momma left and went to the drugs store and bought two rolls of medical adhesive tape, triple antibiotic ointment, band aids, alcohol, peroxide, and a Reese's peanut butter cup(she felt she needed some comfort food). When she got home daddy was at the bathroom sink washing blood off his other thumb as he had cut it while momma was gone. Go ahead laugh...Anyhow, the second cut wasn’t very bad and momma took care of it for daddy.

However, the first cut was still bleeding and again momma suggested a trip to urgent care for a tetanus shot and stitches but like before daddy refused and went back to work on the trailer.

Not more than 2 hours later, daddy comes back inside and his arms are all covered in black goop that he is unable to get off. He had been sealing some cracks on the top of the trailer and somehow put his arm down in the stuff and couldn’t get it off of himself so both momma and daddy went into the bathroom and tried different solvents but couldn’t get it off. Momma finally got the can and read the label and was instructed to use soap and water. Momma had to scrub and scrub daddy’s arm until his skin was bright red to get it off.

The humans are almost finished with the trailer rehabbing so hopefully tomorrow will go smoothly. I should tell you daddy’s first owie is STILL bleeding and momma told him if it is bleeding tomorrow, and he isn’t dead, that they are going to go to urgent care for stitches rather he likes it or not.

Both of my parents are like your Daddy. I swear to you my parents hate the doctors so much they would do anything to avoid them. It's crazy if you ask me. I mean they rush Monty and I to the vet over the smallest thing yet they refuse to go the human vet.

Hope your Daddy is okay. He should probably see a doctor over that ouchie.

Oh my dogness, Puffy! If you daddy hasn't had a tetanus shot in the last 10 years, he definitely needs one now. Have your momma drag him down to a mediclinic to get that cut looked at.

Mr. Puff- Since Gpa is always out to get his hands....Gma can tell you that you have 6 hrs. on stitching a hand and that is the window of opportunity..... He should get the tetanus renewed.....
Puff,Miss Coco your hand are FULL trying to keep Daddy out of TROUBLE.... They can do the dumbest stuff those Daddy's and Gpa's...Give Mom extra Snuggles and Kisses, she needs the stress relief!

Oh no! My mamma is a nurse and she said to tell your daddy that he must get stitches and a tetanus shot. If the wound is older than 24 hours, they usually will not stitch it so he better hurry.
