Puff the wonderful

10/08/11 What a day or should I say gosh, I'm really sorry?

I had to go to the vet today to have a blood test done so when it was time to go, momma gave Coco a Busy Bone to distract her and out the front door momma and I went. I was placed on the passenger front seat but I scooted over to the driver’s seat and asked if I could drive. Nope, my offer was refused so I was then made to go back to the passenger seat.

By now I am noticing that Coco isn’t with us because I looked in the back seat to see if she was riding in her car seat and it was empty. This was not a good thing because it could only mean that I was going someplace that wasn’t going to be fun and I was right.

I whined and shook the whole way to the vet but momma ignored me. When we got there momma put me in my pooch pouch and carried me inside. We were a little early so we had to sit around and wait for 15 minutes or so. The whole time I was on momma’s lap shaking but again she ignored me.

When the vet was ready for me momma handed me to them still in my pooch pouch so that I would not poop on anyone. When momma handed me over to the vet, she was smelling some pretty strong odors coming from someplace but did not look into the pouch to see if I had gone potty – HeHeHe. They took me into the back room and withdrew blood then gave me back to momma.

The results of my blood test will be back on Monday so we have to wait to see if the thyroid pills are working. I have lost one whole pound in less than one month.

Anyhow when we left the vet’s office momma went out to the car and carefully took me out of the pooch pouch and looked to see if I had deposited something in it, which I had not. Momma closed the car door and walked over to the driver’s side, opened the door and was just getting inside when she heard PHOOOTH and immediately the air smelled with nauseous gas. Yes pals, I pooped all over the passenger seat, door, carpet and even managed to cover the sonogram request that momma’s doctor wants her to have done of her liver. Momma grabbed me so that I could not walk in any of my deposits and then with her other hand grabbed the box of moist sani-wipes that she has in her car. She used them all just to get the passenger seat cleaned off and had to drive home with the soiled towels and dripping liquid seeping into the carpet of the car.

When we got home momma opened the car door and I was placed on the ground and happily ran to the front door wanting in. Nope, momma made me go around to the side and we went into the back yard and then into the garage where daddy was.

Daddy – So how is Puffy?

Momma – Not now, I have to go clean out my car.

Daddy – Laughing his head off: don’t tell me he did it again?

Momma – I told you I don’t want to talk about it right now. I have to go clean out my car.

Momma grabbed towels, Natures Miracle spray and a chop stick (I’ll explain this later) and off she went back to the car.

When I pottied on the seat everything that came out was not in a solid form as that would have made clean up too easy. Instead everything was runny and mushy so it sprayed all over the place. The PT Cruiser has plastic pouches on the inside doors so that you can put maps or other things in it and momma just happened to have a road atlas in the passenger door. She was able to take towels and clean all this up but could not get the openings where the seat control protrudes from the seat and had to use the chop stick to fit the towel into these opening and try to clean up my deposits – BOL, BOL

Momma wiped and sprayed for a long time and she thinks she got everything that she could see but the smell is lingering – BOL, BOL She has the car windows down right now and has gone out to the car several time and each time she comes back inside she complains that her car STINKS!

All I can say to all this is that I am feeling pretty good right at the moment and am wondering when I am going to get some dinner.

Poor Little Puff. He can't help it when he gets nervous and scared. Milo poops when he gets in the vets reception room right on the floor by the counter. Every time he goes to the vet. Even if he has just gone before he got in the car. His are always solid thankfully but it is still embarrassing.

Puff you poor darlin'. I feel for ya! I barked at Gma as she read your embarrassing tale and laughed! YOU can't help those things when you are so scared....You're still a Pawsome, awesome pal and I love you!

Tell Momma...pour plain BBQ charcoal into a bucket and set in the car, will absorb the smells. Then want the car to really smell nice? Gma puts a few coffee beans in a little basket and lets them sit in the car. Smells like a fancy coffee shop.
Gpa has had calves poops in his pickup! That is way worse than anything you could possible do....So we know the charcoal works....

I don't think our pawrents need to ignore our shaking and whining. Read force-fear-dogs-and-thunderstorms. We are so very sorry the vet experience is not a nice one for neither of you and hope you and your mom are feeling better.
