Day three of our road trip:
It was already hot as we left and lucky for everyone daddy did the driving because momma had not gotten good nights rest and was still tired. Before we continue on with our adventure I need to tell you about where we stayed. It was called the Smoke Tree Resort and from the outside it didn’t look too great, but they accept pet so we weren’t going to complain. Our room was a suite that had a living room, dining area, bedroom, large closet and a big bathroom. There was lots of carpet all over for me to piddle on. Right outside our door were grass and bushes for those of you who prefer this type of surface for such duties. There was also a family of rabbits that would come out and visit before the sun got too hot. In the center of the resort was a small swimming pool but we did not care to use it because we didn’t travel many miles just to get a bath.
Anyhow as I said, momma couldn’t sleep so she got out of bed and Coco and I followed her into the living room where we laid on the sofa and watched a flat screen TV most of the night. When momma finally fell asleep on the sofa I was right by her side and Coco was down by her feet. When momma turned over though guess who fell on the floor: yup, it was me. It was only a short little fall and I was ok and did not appear to reinjure my spine.
All of us stumbled back into the bedroom afterwards and went back to sleep for a couple of hours in the nice bed.
When the humans finally got up which was only two hours later it was time to pack up and head out. We left the resort around 8:00AM and had to go get gas for the car. On the block where the resort is located is a small gas station where you are NOT permitted to pump your own gas because they do it for you along with cleaning your windows and checking the air pressure in your tires. Oh and speaking about gas, if any of you are thinking about going to the Grand Canyon DO NOT stop in NEEDLES to buy gas. They charge almost twice the amount as other gas stations do.
We left our Phoenix hotel around 8:00AM and had to get onto the interstate to head home. For those of you who have never been to Phoenix let me tell you it is congested. The interstate was backed up, lots of delays and tempers were tested, it was just like home – BOL.
Anyhoodle, we were once again on the road. Daddy stopped at a Burger King to get coffee and breakfast and to let us out for a bathroom break but the temperature was too hot and there were a lot of interstate trucks there making too much noise so neither of us wanted to go potty.
With breakfast done we all got back into the car and daddy drove. We went home a different way than how we came but it all looked about the same, dry land with lots of cactus all over the place. After hours and hours of driving we finally got to Barstow and saw the wind generators which are actually pretty impressive. The video that is posted on my page only shows a small section of them and taking the video from a moving car with a dirty window is not ideal but it does show them.
We were now about 1 hour from home and the rest of the trip was pretty uneventful. Coco sat in her crate and looked out the window most of the trip and I laid in mine and farted the whole way.
After three days of being away from home it was nice to see the car pull into our driveway. Momma let me out of the crate and put me on the ground and daddy got Coco out. We went running around in the front yard like wild animals. Coco piddled on the grass and I went running to the front door. Daddy opened the front door and the humans started unloading the car and I went inside and piddled on the carpet. Yes that’s right I was a BAD boy – BOL. The humans were going to take a nap because that was a long drive home but momma had to get out the carpet cleaner and clean up the carpet. Yes things are back to normal and I for one and happy to be back home because I missed my carpet – BOL
It sounds like you had a great trip. Needles sticks out in Mommy's mind and she hasn't been there in decades. For her, it was super hot when she went through there. It sounds like you had fun, and I'm glad you are back home safe and sound.
