06/18/10 The story of Puff

Many years ago there was a male Maltese puppy born. When he was still just a baby he was taken away from his momma and placed with another family. This new family named him Bono.

I would like to think that Little Bono was loved by his new family as they were responsible enought to have him neutered so that he could not contribute to the pet over population. However, some place along the line something changed and little Bono found himself given up to yet another family. The exact reason is unknown but it was rumored that Bono’s human had been an elderly lady who had to go into a nursing home. Anyhow, the new family changed his name to Scooter.

Scooter adjusted to his new family and especially loved his new Yorkie sister. Things appeared to be good for him until the new family decided to get a divorce. Neither the husband nor wife wanted the dogs so they were given to an animal rescue group.

The little Yorkie was lucky as she was adopted right away but little Scooter, who was now named Puff was not part of the deal. Puff languished in the animal rescue group for a while until a family with a very spoiled Shih Tzu saw him on Pet Finder and inquired about him.

This new family was looking for a dog that would fit into their family but most importantly the new dog had to get along with their Shih Tzu, the two cats and rabbits.

After passing the home inspection, Puff who was almost five years old was brought over for a play date with the spoiled Shih Tzu. Both dogs seemed to get along fine because Puff is very passive while the Shih Tzu Coco Rose is very aggressive. It was a match made in heaven as all animals seemed to get along.

The events above are recorded in the documents I received with him during his adoption, except for the part about the elderly owner as that part came from the animal communicator who supposedly spoke to Puff and he told her this himself – yeah, right. If there were other homes in there we don’t know. We do know his first given name was Bono and that was changed to Scooter by his next family. The animal rescue group changed his name to Puff and I just didn’t have the heart to change it again.

Puff has been a member of our family for about 1 and a half years and I wouldn’t even think about giving him up even though he continues to piddle on the carpet. Whatever his story is I hope to give it a very happy ending. He is my little white shadow and I love him dearly.

Puff, I think it just took awhile for you to find the right family. I think it was worth the wait--although you tell them they should have found you sooner.LOL

Puff, isn't it to finally always be where you'll be loved and cared for? Sometimes it takes a while but it sure is worth it in the end!
