In the mail today was a diet that the new vet is instructing momma to put me on:

1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1% fat
2/3 cup tofu, raw firm
1 1/2 cups rice, long-grain, cooked
1 tablespoon chicken fat
1/4 teaspoon salt substitute - potassium chloride
3 bonemeal tablets (10-grain or eqivalent)
1 multiple vitamin tablet

The above provides 651 calories, 36.9 grams protein, 21.8 grams fat, 0.280 sodium

I was hoping for some nice cooked chicken or turkey but no, the vet is telling me to eat cold tofu and rice with a smidge of chicken fat. To make it even worse momma actually went to the store today and bought everything. When she got home she cut off a sliver of tofu and tried to get me to eat it. YUCK!

I think I'm going to pack my bag and head to Josh's house because he gets good stuff for dinner.

Actually, Puff, I think this sounds really good! I love cottage cheese and I will eat tofu, not my fav, but if it has some cottage cheese on it, yum! Good luck and please give it a try. You might just like it.

Nope - don't want to eat it. Momma made turkey tacos for dinner and didn't share any with me. After the humans ate she got up and cooked the rice and tofu for me. I watched to see what she was doing and instead of chicken fat she put a tiny bit of chicken base stock in for flavor. When it was finished she put some on a pretty plate and placed it on the kitchen floor. I went over and sniffed but then walked away. Thinking it was just too hot, she picked up the plate and we are now in the sewing room with the plate sitting on the carpet. Coco tried a little of it and is sitting by it right now. Me, I'm ignoring it completely.

Puff.. well i haf to say i neber had any of tis .. but it might not be to bad.. maybe mom could ask da vet about yogurt .. you need low protien diet too? Iz so happy you have a good home now and are getting great care !
