I went to the new vet today and he says I have hepatitis - cause unknown. My tummy around my manhood is tender to touch. The new vet says he can not determine what is causing my problem and wants to do another type of blood test on me but we are waiting for me to finish my medication and if I happen to have a relapse then that is what we are going to do.
So at this time it is just waiting and sees. He did say that it is important to make sure I don't become dehydrated and if I do have a problem to bring me in right away. He also said that I need to loose a few pounds but we would work on that after I become better.
Momma promised that she would not give me any turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy or any of the other things that humans have on Thanksgiving. You know I was looking forward to having some of that but now I don't get any - phooey! I'll tell you right now, I am going to be checking Coco's breath to make sure no one gives her any of the yummys. If I can't have any then it's only fair that she can't have any either.
Thank you all for sending me encouragement, words of wisdom, prayers and POTP. My family and I are very grateful.
Thank you for the update, Puff. I will keep my paws crossed for you sweetie!
It would be nice if we could have the same test they use for peoples riding in cars with alcool in their blood but for doggies who have eat turkey. Something like a turkey breath test...Wait a minute... Not good at all !!! Humans would use it to figure if we steal some food on the counter tops or garbages. Forget what I said sooner and check Coco breath yourself. Hope our moms will not read that. :o)
We are very sad that you will not eat turkey on Thanksgiving...It will be a no turkey day for us too. Even if dad cook one we will not eat even a little piece of it. Hope you will get better very soon. XOXOXO
As you already know, we are sending you lots of love and prayers for a speedy recovery! Also, give your mommy a little smoochie too, as we know she is so worried about you
I'm glad your new vet was able to find something out. Thank you for the update. I hope you feel better soon!
Well Puff, I least I'm glad they finally determined what you have. I hope that you can some how control the hepatitis.
I know your restricted diet is supposed to help and I know all about not getting all the goodies. Only thing with me is I try to NOT smell Little CoCo Puff's breath because it smells bad - PU, even mom can't stand it when CoCo's doggy breathing all over her.
Stay strong and hydrated. Wuv you.
I just read your update, li'l buddy- hepatitis!?? My Mom knows what can cause that in humans, but not dogs... Unless you've been making some risky lifestyle choices- I don't believe that!
I'm glad you finally got a diagnosis, even though it's a little confusing.
I love and support you, Puff, whatever your lifestyle choices.
Be well, buddy. I'll fight 1000 porcupines with hepatitis for you- just bark the word.
Josh, standing by my buddy, no matter what
Oh my doG, Puff!!
So it turns out you do have hepatitis like I did.
It's just weird that the causes are usually
unknown. We never knew what caused mine!
We will continue to send up prayers for your
100% complete recovery.
Love ya, dude!
