I am a foster mom for the Humane Society and I take in litters of puppies and kittens and take care of them until they are old enough / well enough to be adopted out. I don't usually have a problem giving them back when the time comes, but with Speedy I got really attachted to him. He was so teeny-tiny! Someone gave up him, his mom and his two littermates at the shelter. Then it was discovered that they had ringworm. So it was off to my house for treatment. I knew Speedy wasn't a good fit for our house. We have a big Doberman (all puppy still) a grumpy Chihuahua, an 18 year old cat and 3 kids ages 6 yrs, 5 yrs and 2 yrs. This house is a ZOO. But still I was having a hard time with giving Speedy back. So one day my Grandmother came over and seemed very interested in him. So she decided to adopt him. I was so excited and Happy! he is in a great home, but still part of our lives. We see him all the time. I help my Grandma with his care, Speedy keeps my Grandma company and helps comfort her. They are a great match! Should anything happen that she can't keep him, he will always have a home here. We are like his back-up forever family.
