Leave a bone for Mason Nicknames: Buddy Arrival Story: Hi, My name is Mason (but I answer to Buddy!) and I'm a healthy 2 year old male. I'm very timid but am opening up a little more each day with my foster family. I don't approach the family too much but am learning to be happy when they approach me as they always bestow me with kisses and pets. I've even given my Foster Mommy a few kisses back, she loved that! Even though I am timid, I always follow the humans around to see what they are doing. I like to be close and will be demanding attention in no time once I get comfortable.
My Foster Mom thinks that I was abused by my previous owners as I tend to cower from men and if you have an object in your hand, I cower in fear that you'll hit me with it.
I have a rambunctious 2 year old toddler in my foster home and while I'm curious about him, I'm very gentle around him. I will go up to him and smell him and wag my tail but the little guy just doesn't pay me much attention. So I go lay down and keep an eye out to see what/where he's going to scamper off to next.
I had never seen stairs when I first got to my foster home. I was so scared that my foster Dad actually had to carry me up the stairs to the bedroom to sleep my first night. I'm a great houseguest for my foster family as I sleep quietly next to the master's bed in my own doggie bed. I've even woken up to a very nosey Jack Russell Terrier cuddling up to my tummy while I was sleeping. I am house trained and haven't had any accidents in the house since I've been there.
I like being around other dogs as they make me feel a little more comfortable. I would do best in a forever home that has at least one dog that is gentle and not too aggressive. I'm a very calm boy and would like to be around another dog that will play but won't get too crazy.
My foster Dad is really nice and gentle with me but I just am so scared of the deep voice that I would do best with a primarily female household. If you have room in your life for a super sweet boy that needs his confidence boosted, then I'm your man. I will be a great dog and am looking for a forever home that will shower me with the love and gentle pets that I've missed out on all my life!
