Arrival Story:
We got Gizmo in the early 90's. I had never heard of a puppy mill but looking back that is most definitely where he came from. He was a great watch dog and so fiercely protective of his mommy. At one year of age he was diagnosed with epilepsy and took medication all of his life. He would continue to have seizures weekly even on medication. He was not good with strangers and our girls were always on guard around him but we all loved him so much. We had 13 wonderful years with him before he crossed to the bridge. He had gone blind and deaf and no longer could smell or go up and down the stairs to go potty. I would wake him up to carry him out to the bathroom and I finally realized it was time to let him go because he was starting to suffer from a level 5 heart murmur. It was the hardest day of my life and I will always remember him with love.
