Arrival Story:
Hank is a pretty happy, content guy these days. He was rescued in late September by a Tassie's Hope foster mom, who happened to spot him wandering loose in front of a convenience store in rural northeast TX. Maybe Hank was craving a Super Big Gulp or a Slim Jim? Most likely, he was hoping for a kind stranger to take him in, which is exactly what happened. His soon-to-be foster mom inquired in the store to see if the filthy, but beautiful dog belonged to someone. After it was determined that Hank was indeed a stray, off he went to his foster home, where he was greeted by several dogs who look just like him. Luckily for Hank, the Border Collie is his foster mom's favorite breed. She is involved in canine agility and is also a trainer. (Talk about hitting the jackpot!) Hank has since been hanging out in Border Collie Nirvana, where he is learning basic obedience and getting lots of love. Hank has also been to the vet, where he was neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and heartworm-tested (negative). Hank has begun monthly heartworm preventative and will also be micro-chipped prior to adoption. Our $175 adoption fee helps offset the cost of Hank's vet visit and foster care. This sweet guy is only about a year old. Hank needs a forever home where he can have the daily mental and physical challenges Border Collies long for. These dogs love to have a job to do - or at least a hobby.
