Hello everyone! I am Penelope. I can't remember much about my old life. I know I was found running along a highway out in the country. I was very hungry back then and I had a lot of mean biting things on my back. I can remember a car pulling up and a nice lady calling me over and taking me to her house. There I got to play with 4 beagles. They were so fun! We played outside all day long and I had plenty to eat but that family was too full for little me so they put a post on pet-finder so a new family who really wanted a pup like me could find me. After about a month living out in the country with the beagles I took a ride in to town. I love car rides and to I wagged all the way. When the car stopped I was at a big rock building filled with dogs and cats but there was also a family waiting for me. They had a little blond boy who was very fun to kiss and chase. They also had two very loud and silly basset boys for me to play with. I got a bath and a nice doctor checked me over. She said I need a dental, and I have a big spleen probably from those mean biting things that used to be on my back, I got drops for my red puffy eyes and I need to be spayed (whatever that means). After I'm done with the medicine for my angry spleen I will get that dental and spay. After my check up my new mom left those wild basset boys at the vet and took me to a big store that was filled with wonderful things. There were squeaky toys, fuzzy beds, food as far as I could smell and lots and lots of collars and leashes. I got a new pink collar with a shinny pink name ID tag, a big ceramic bowl with pink and green paw prints on it, a beautiful purple harness and a matching leash. I was so happy and I got to wear them right out of the store! Then we went back to get the boys ad we all rode in the back of the station wagon to my new home.
There was a bed waiting for me in the kitchen and a little door so I could go out into the yard whenever I wanted. There was also a gate that blocked the hallway out of the kitchen but through there I could smell a cat (neat, i hope she like drool!). That was about a week ago. Since then we have gone on a couple walks were I have been at the end of one leash with my 2 new brothers. Mom held the leash and pushed my favorite brother in a scary monster stroller. And once I ran out of the front door! Mom ran after me but I was having too much fun running so I didn't turn around. Later a man read my collar and called my Dad at work. He told him where my house was and the man walked me over there because I was just one street away. It's a good thing I had that pink ID tag or I may have lost my new family forever. I actually had a great time but my mom was really scared and sad. ANYWAY that's it for now!!!!
