Thanks dogster!

I just found out I'm listed in the Doggie Diary Central under Today's Picks...thanks dogster! I think mommy's more excited than I am...but I'm happy if she's happy.

We just got back from visiting my mommy's niece and I'm pretty tuckered out. There were lots of little kiddies there and boy can they wear a doggie out. I had to make sure they didn't hit me while they were throwing the ball for me to "catch" and when they pet me they sure do pet kind of hard. I did get a nice tummy rub in the sun but I had to be really diligent that I didn't get stepped on while I was lying there. I know they just want to play but I'm used to nice, quiet kind of play. Mommy says I'm a old peoples doggie. I'm not sure if that's good or bad...hum?

Sad...

I think daddy has to go back to work tomorrow and I'm sad. I had three whole weeks with daddy home and I was one happy doggie. I followed daddy everywhere. Mommy kept saying I was his shadow...whatever that means? But I guess if I want to continue to eat and have treats and a warm place to lay my head at night, daddy has to go "make the bacon," as mommy says...and, by the way, I'll have some of that too!

But right now I think I'm going to go take a nap by the heater under mommy's office desk....this is the life!

Play date!

I had my first play date this morning. I got to play for over one hour with Polly Jean. She and I like to play together during the small dog walk at Ocean Beach on Sat morning. But mommy made a special play date with just Polly Jean this morning and daddy was there too...what fun!

Then mommy and daddy took me for another walk...wow! And I found another friend to play with (mommy and daddy thought I'd be too tired...but I wasn't...ha!). I think we really went for the second walk because mommy and daddy where feeling kind of full and "uncomfortable" after lunch. You know, I could've eaten some of that food for ya!

Then we stopped at the video store (I like the video store, they're always friendly to me there and give me lots of attention). I think we're all going to snuggle together tonight. Mommy and daddy are going to watch the squawk box and I'm going to take a nice nap. What a great day!

I'm glad Christmas is over!

I'm not so sure I really like Christmas very much. I like going visiting and all, but I don't like having to stay in my "visiting" doggie house for sooo long. We went to my mommy's sister's house for Christmas and then stayed over night. I had to stay in my "visiting" doggie house most of the time. Mommy and daddy took me outside to run around, and there's lots of room to run, which I love, but most of the time it seemed like I was "cooped" up...not so much fun. I know mommy and daddy wanted to visit and all, and couldn't pay as much attention to me, but hey, remember me over here? I did get some fun treats though, but I really would have loved to run around more.

Oh, there was a cat there too. I didn't see the cat much, it stayed hidden for some reason...hum? But on Friday night, as the cat was walking from one room to another (and, hey, how come the cat gets to be free and walk around!?!?!) it walked by my doggie house and stopped to "inspect." Anyway, I started barking and tried to "catch" it. I lunged and my doggie house went right along with me. Darn it! I could have caught that cat if it wasn't caged up. How unfair for a doggie!!

Snow!

We were in South Lake Tahoe for almost a whole week, we got back on Saturday. I'm sooo glad to be home! Mommy and daddy wanted to take me to see snow for the first time. Well I can tell you that I'm glad I don't live where it snows! I didn't like it at all...not one little bit. I was cold all the time, shivering and everything. Mommy put three layers on me and I was still cold...and I didn't especially like having all those things on me either...it was hard to move I can tell you. I was soooo glad when we got home!

Right after we got home mommy and daddy took me for a nice walk in Golden Gate Park...NO SNOW...yea!! I had sooo much fun running in the GRASS...I LOVE GRASS! I don't think I ever want to see snow again...do you hear me mommy and daddy?

Then it rained all day yesterday, which wasn't fun walking in either, so mommy and daddy took me for a short walk. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow so I can go for a nice long walk...I'm getting antsy!

Now I can get excited about Christmas presents! Hum...what's for me under the tree??

Mommy's mad!

Mommy got mad yesterday on our walk...and it wasn't about me! This is the story mommy told daddy last night...

We were walking along and another person with their fur friend was coming toward us. Mommy noticed that it was a pit bull adolescent (and we're NOT biased!!) and the guardian had it on one of those "yo-yo" leashes, so she put me on the far side of her to continue walking. As we got closer the other dog started to come toward me but mommy noticed that the body language of the other dog was stiff and the eyes were fixated on me. Then about 3 feet from us the other dog lunged at me...(OMG I wasn't ready for that...but mommy was!). Mommy pulled me back and said NO! The other person walked by and laughed.

Mommy turned around and this was their conversation:

Mommy: "That wasn't cool!"
Other person: "My dog didn't do anything out of the ordinary."
M: "Lunging at another dog is NOT cool!"
OP: "My dog wouldn't do anything."
M: "How do I know that? You may know that, but I don't!" "Lunging is NOT cool!"

Then the other person continued walking away. Mommy told daddy she wishes she had also said something like, "You're the type of guardian that gives these poor dogs a bad name!"

Anyway, I LOVE MY MOMMY!

Santa Claus!

OMG I met Santa Claus today! Mommy and daddy took me to Jeffrey's Natural Pet Food store, which is my favorite place in the whole wide world, and Santa Claus was there. I'd never met Santa Claus before...he was very nice and gave me some yummy treats. I got kind of excited and wiggled a lot. Mommy and daddy were lucky to get even one photo...it was just too exciting to stay still for too long. So much to smell and so many other doggies to greet.

I hope I get some yummy goodies for Christmas, but I'm sure mommy will want to put some cute little outfit under the tree for me too...hum?

Mommy and daddy got some yummy treats at the party too and their treats sure did smell good. But mommy said they're not good for me. I sat real nice for her but she still wouldn't give me any of hers...poo!

My first "real" bone!

Mommy gave me my first beef bone yesterday. At first I just sniffed it since it was kind of cold and I wasn't sure what it was. I looked at mommy a couple of times but she just smiled at me and waited. Then when I started to lick it...OMG it was so good! First I licked out all the center...yum. And then I started working on the outside where there was still some meat...yummy!

After a while mommy said, "Let's go for a walk!" But I didn't budge....now, that's a first! She had to say it a few times. Finally I followed her downstairs and out the door. I didn't want to leave the bone, even for a fun walk.

When we got back from the walk my bone wasn't around...hum? But then mommy gave it to me again today...yeah. So I worked on it some more but it's pretty well all clean. That was soooo good. I hope I get another one soon. Can we go get another one right now? Can we? Ok?

So sad...

Mommy wants to write in my diary tonight because I'm too sad and can't type through the tears.

I just read that Dixie, one of Molly's pup pals, has lost her fight with cancer today and has passed away. I know Dixie's guardians are going to have a rough time for awhile. Molly, Eric and I want to send lots of kisses and hugs their way and hope that soon the memories of happier times will replace the sadness. Dixie's guardians and Buddy, her fur companion, will be in our thoughts....Donna

I'm pooped!

I am one pooped pup. What a busy and fun holiday week. First and bestest is that daddy took almost the whole week off and so I got lots of play time and lov'in time in with daddy. I think mommy got a little jealous that I paid so much attention to daddy. But I don't usually get to see him all day!

Lots of great smells on Thursday. I really wanted to eat everything because it smelled so good. But I had to stay in my "visiting" doggy house most of the time, which puts a crimp on my licking and kissing and running around. Everything smelled so good though and it seems like everyone was having a lot of fun eating...hey, what about me?!?

Then today was extra fun because we went to Crissy Field beach in the morning and then to my favorite place in the world...Jeffries Pet Supply Store...then home...and then for another walk in Golden Gate Park. It's really fun on Sunday because they close JFK Drive to car traffic so I get to run around off lease (I don't think I'm suppose to, so don't tell anyone, ok?). Then when we got home daddy gave me a bath...yuk. Then....dinner!!!! Now I'm ready to go take a nap. What a great week!
