Arrival Story:
Jeannie is actually Jeannie the second. The first Jeannie was a standard dachshund who we adopted at an older age. When she passed away we started looking for another friend for Sparky right away. A month later, we saw an add for puppies in the paper that said for sale or trade. The pups were black and tan but we wanted red. When we contacted the lady, she said she had a red that we could have so of course, we got in our car and drove for an hour to "see" this dog. There were many dogs in the house when we arrived. I sat on the floor to play with dogs. One dog came right over and crawled up on my lap. That was Jeannie. They said that she had shown up in the yard only two weeks before. Her nails had grown around and left marks on the pads of her feet before finally getting cut by this woman. Her teeth still had things caked in them. They also said that she had not cuddled up to anyone until I got there. How could I have left her.

Looking back over my other diary entries it seems that I am the only one in the family that has trials.
Tonight was just like everyother, the people eat and then Sparky and Pumpkin get to lick plates and I get a piece of whatever is left. The others don't like to share with me. So tonight was steak and it would have been yummy if I had remembered to chew. But it got stuck in my throat instead. I just coughed a little and it came out but that was after everyone went crazy and started carrying on and wouldn't leave me alone. Well, I just wanted to share another crazy event in my life.
Sleep tight all!

Well yesturday I got stung by bees and my mouth swelled up on one side. Not to worry though, my mom, she's the best, she fixed it. She gave me extra good food that made me feel better and then the swelling went down in a few hours. It was so good, I'm sure there was no medicine in it. I didn't know that bees lived in the attic. I like to hide up there if the doors left open. It is summer finally here. The temp is so warm that I don't need a blanket at night, amazing.

What can I say

I was a stray. Sometimes I can't get it out of my system. Like two days ago. Dad let me out to meet mom at the car and I didn't get there. I'm not telling where I went for an hour but I made sure I was really smelly when I came back.
If humans had dog noses then they would know where I was. Instead they ate pizza while they ran around the yard and field next door looking for me. They should have known that I love them and when I was done I would come home. Dad was calling someone and looked at the door and there I was just waiting to share my stink with them. Dead things are fun to roll on.
