It's a Dogs life!
Visit to the VET.June 1st 2009 8:43 am[ Leave A Comment ] Friday my family went for a drive. It was one of those long fun ones with the window down just enough so that Bear can put his head out the window. We finally got to our destination and Bear loved all the new smells! He peed on all the bushes and trees he was in heaven. He reconized this place sorta. he excitely went in the door and sniffed around thinking what a great place so many smells! Robert (or daddy) made him get on the scale no problem! He say very nicely. He has gained a pound and we just knew the vet was going to lecture us. Finaly it was our turn to go into the exam room. We went in and Bear was smelling everything very happy. Then he heard a noise coming from the other side of door! Who could that be? He was on high alert ears up ready to leap. Guess who came in? THE VET! Bear looked smelled him then proceded to turnaround and try to leave! He was like "I am out of here!" The vet hurriedly closed the door and Bear say like "Great I am stuck." Dr. Lang asked my 50plus husband to please put Bear on the table. He struggled a bit but got Bear up there. Bear is not real happy he knows table+vet=shoots. He sat on the table with a forlorn expression on his face. The vet who we love asked us how Bear was and started looking around on him. I pointed out a few things I have seen that I wanted him to look at such as a lump on his leg and a little rash in his nether regions. Dr. Lang explained that the lump is a lipoma and is not dangerous becuase labs get those all the time. The little rash was probably plant related especially because of the location and just watch it. His ears were clean his teeth were fabulous and his tummy excellent! His fur is nice and healthy. So Bear passes the exam with flying colors. Now the shots! First the dewormer! Bear hates the taste of this and squirms so we have to hold him while Dr. Lang puts it in his mouth. Then he does that bleah face for like five minutes while the vet gives him the rabies shot and the Leptospirosis shot. By this time Bear is not having any fun and gives us this dirty look like "Why did you have to do this to me?" Then it is over! Bear gets to get off the table and happily trys to get out the door. However we still have to pay so we go to the counter. I get a bill pay it and receive his new rabies tag and papers declaring him heathly! This all was done in about 10 minutes. I am sure that the vet wishes all his paitents were as good as Bear! We left the vets office and let Bear play a little then went home. Also the vet didn't say anything about Bears weight like we thought! I guess as dogs age it is exspected that they gain a little weight! We are glad that is done for another year!
