New member of the family

How could I forget to tell everyone... we have a new member to our family! Her name is Nala and she's a Shizpoo. Brett and Chelsea got her on Friday and brought her over for a visit. She's a tiny little thing. All white and fluffy. I really liked her and tried to play with her. At first she wasn't too sure of us cause we are SO much bigger than her, but then once she knew we weren't going to hurt her, she played with us. She chased me around and tried to bite my feet! I didn't mind though cause it didn't hurt. It was a lot of funny playing with her and I hope they bring her back for a visit again soon! Mom will post pix so you all can see what she looks like. Mom took a picture of the three of us and Nala is in the middle. She looks like a tiny little white puff ball in between me and Echo. BOL:D

Bake-a-thon

Like I figured, I didn't do much this past weekend. Mom was on a bake-a-thon Friday night and Saturday. Grandma and Aunt Lois did come over Friday and help and it was nice to see them. They didn't get done until about midnight. Mom and I were suppose to go to Manor Care Saturday, but she was too tired from Friday night so we slept in. When she got up, it was more baking. Again, mom was at it until about 10pm this time. All in all, she made 10 nut rolls and 29 dozen cookies. That's a lot! And none for us doggies:( Sunday daddy came home and we were very happy to see him! He went back up to camp already, but at least he was home for a little. Monday mom came home from work sick. She had a belly boo boo. I slept with her in the afternoon and tried to help her feel better.

So, as you can see, nothing exciting happened over my weekend. How about you all? This week I know we have agility Thursday again and mom said we're doing a double visit at the nursing homes on Saturday. Other than that, not much going on. Just patiently waiting for our long trip to the mountains!

Agility class

Last night we had agility class. Grandma came along to help mom with us dogs and Aunt Lois came to watch. Grandma was working me, but of course, all I really cared about was mom. This made it even harder for Grandma. She never did this before so she was learning and then I was giving her a hard time too, but I have to say, she did pretty good with all things considered. I did start to pay more attention to her, until the tunnel that is. Mom and Echo went first and if Grandma didn't hold me, I would run right after mom when she went with Echo. Grandma caught on fast though and held me at the entrance until our turn. All in all, I had a good time and will try to be better for Grandma. It's not like mom isn't right there with us so I need to get over it.

I don't think I have much going on this weekend. Mom is trying ti finish up her baking so we'll pretty much be inside. She does have a visit to Manor Care, but if Grandma doesn't go along, it's Echo's turn so I'll be staying home:(

It looks like a pretty decent weekend so I hope you all can get out there and enjoy it!

Mom's been busy

Sorry I haven't updated since the mountains, but mom has been like crazy busy since we got back. Really, only two things happened since we came home.

I went on a visit to Country Meadows Sunday evening. I saw lots of people this time. We were there a little early so we hung out in the friendship room which is beside the dining room. We saw all the people on their way out from dinner. Mom said I was a very good girl too:)

Monday dad came home from the cabin cause he shot a deer. Mom took my picture with it and you'll see me looking at it cause I could have cared less about it. Echo on the other hand wanted that deer bad!

Last night we rode along with mom to pick up the deer meat and then we just hung out at home while mom did some things on the computer then went to do a little Christmas shopping.

Tonight mom said she's going to be baking so that means we'll be doing nothing:( At least tomorrow we have agility class and I'm looking forward to that.

I guess not doing much is what I'll be looking at the next few weeks as mom does her baking and candy making for Christmas. Plus add Christmas shopping in there, which I hope she gets something for me too!

So as you can see, not too much going on around here. I hope everyone is well and I'll drop a line when I do something exciting. Bark at you later!

Lots of deer!

Well, did everyone get a Thanksgiving Day treat? I didn't cause sissy isn't allowed cause of her belly problem. But mom promised that I will get some tomorrow when they warm up the leftovers. She always sneaks me some stuff cause she said just cause sissy can't have stuff doesn't mean I have to miss out. Thanks mom!

Today we are in the mountains. Yep, we now have the internet and we got here last night after we stopped to see grandma and give her some Thanksgiving goodies. Okay, back to my story. So we went to the property so dad could put up a treestand for hunting. I had a blast playing with Echo. It was a beautiful day and having no boundries is the best! Although our fun was interupted for a short time when dad fell from the treestand. Don't worry he's okay. The dumb thing buckled and fell 5 ft. Fortunately mom and dad were both paying attention and got out of the way.

When we were done at the property, we got back to the cabin then went for water at Clair and Velma's. That means kubota ride!! And it got better cause after we brought the water back, mom, Echo and I went for another Kubota ride to the tree. We stayed there for a very long time. That's cause it was so nice and we were relaxing. Guess what we saw while we were there? 6 deer! Yep, you heard me right, 6. First we saw a buck following a doe then we saw 3 doe and a buck. Those 4 stayed around for like ever (okay 30-40 min. mom says) playing and eating. I enjoyed watching them, but we had to stay perfectly still and not make any noise at all or they would have run away. Mom said we were sooooo good! She said she was proud how we stayed so still. Let me tell you, it wasn't easy. I was slowly sliding from my position, but I knew I couldn't move or the deer would hear and see me (that's how close they were). Finally, after the last 4 went over the top, mom let us up. Thank goodness! Not only was I happy cause I was able to get out of the weird position I was in, I had to pee! It was funny cause all three of us took a potty break after the deer left. I guess all the excitement of the deer will do that to you. Anyway, when we got back, mom had to tell dad all about it. Deer season starts Monday and I don't like when people shoot the deer, but I know from hearing dad talk that there would be way too many deer and more to get hit and killed on the roads so they have to keep the herd down. I guess I can understand that.

After my busy, adventurous day, I was tired and will enjoy relaxing the rest of the night. Dad had to go back home to get beer so we'll chill with mom and watch a movie til he gets back. All I know is I'm in the mountains and mom is in a good mood with no stress. Gotta love it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! We all know us doggies are not suppose to have table scraps, but turkey isn't scraps, right? I hope everyone has a great and does get some treat, just not too much:)

The only thing happening since my last post was a visit to Manor Care last night. I got to see all my friends and wish them all a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm glad mom took me to see them cause I really missed them. My friend Joe's son was there. He seemed nice and I was happy to see Joe have company for a change.

Mom said I may have a visit with Danny today. I hope cause it's such a beautiful day and I like going to see Danny. We get to take a walk and play ball. Two of my favorite things!

We're headed to the cabin tomorrow after dinner so I'll drop a line when I get back. I hope everyone has a great turkey day!

Me and my family would just like to say THANK YOU to all the veterans out there. Without you we wouldn't have the freedoms we do today. You sacrified so much for those you don't even know and we will never forget you for that. Our best to you all!

TRAIL RIDE!!!!!

Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about! Mom and dad were gone all morning and into the afternoon. I figured it was going to be another one of those boring day's... boy was I wrong! When they got back mom loaded ME, not sissy, into the car and off we went. Guess where to? The barn. Now at first I figured I was just along for the ride and chilled in the car while mom was messing with the horses. Boy was I ever surprised when mom stopped by the car and got me out. I was going on the trail ride with her!!!!!! I was literally bouncing all over the place. I was exstatic that I finally got to go and I told that world about it. I ran around the field and barked my head off! Mom said I was acting like a nut, but she was happy to see me so happy and was I ever:D It has been sooooooo long since I've been on a trail ride and I really enjoyed it. We got to go for about half an hour or so and to tell the truth, that was good for me. I'm not use to all that walking and I did a lot of running cause I was exploring so that was just about the perfect amount of time. And of course when we got home Echo gave me the third degree and I tried not to rub it in, but honestly, I did a little cause she got to go last time and did the same thing to me. Mom promised me last time that I would get to go the next time and she kept that promise... thanks mom:D

Let's play catch up

I wanted to check and see how everyone is recovering from Hurricane Sandy? I hope no one suffered any real damage, but our thoughts and prayers are going out to everyone who was affected by the storm. Our prayers are also going out to everyone who may be hit by the northeaster that is heading our way. Boy, this is some wacky weather!

Okay, now about my weekend. We got to the cabin Thursday night since they cancelled my agility class and dad's helicopter lesson due to the weather. It was dark when we arrived so we didn't get to do anything.

Friday morning mom was up at 430am and we went with her back home. She forgot to pack dad's medicines and since she felt responsible, she went back to get them while dad was sleeping. I didn't know why we had to ride along cause we got home, got out to pee while mom got the meds, then back in the car heading to the cabin. I would have much rather stayed in the cabin and slept. Mom was convinced we would wake dad once she left. Echo probably would have, but not me. I would have just slept the morning away. The rest of the day was pretty boring. Mom was at Velma's making nut rolls and dad was hunting turkey. Mom did take us for a short bota ride when she got back, but it was very short cause it was windy and cold. Mom and dad went to an auction in the evening so we just chilled at the cabin.

This is pretty much what Saturday morning and early afternoon was too. Mom and dad really like those auctions, but I don't like them when they are inside cause that means us dogs can't go:( But mom did keep her word and took us for a kubota ride when they got back. I had a good time, but it was windy and cold so I was also happy to get back to the cabin and relax in the nice warmth.

Sunday was a little better, although I wasn't too happy when mom made me stay inside while she worked some searches with Echo. But I guess I can't blame her cause I have no skill at that and I keep trying to play with Echo and mom said that's not good when she's trying to do her job. But mom did take us for another kubota ride afterwards and that was fun. Mom went up in the tree one time and I couldn't figure out what for. Echo tried to climb up after her, but everyone knows that dogs can't climb ladders. When we got back Randy and Tony stopped to visit a little. We actually had a couple visits from Randy and Shuey, but this is the first time in a while that Tony stopped. I think he looks like Grizzly Adams cause he has a huge beard... BOL:D

Monday we had to go home:( Never fun that's for sure. I didn't do much during the week until Thursday night. We finally started our agility class. I had an agility class before and I loved it! The tunnel and chute are my favorite things to do. I did have a good time, but didn't get as much time as Echo did. Mom was trying to work both of us, but the instructor knew that I took the class before and knew what I was doing to she told mom to work with Echo more. I know it wasn't mom's fault, but I wanted to play too:( Mom promised that this week either dad or grandma will come to help her cause it's not fair that I don't get the same amount of time as Echo. Mom does always make sure it's fair and that makes me happy:)

Not much happened over the weekend. Mom and dad were gone a lot. They took a pet first aid class on Saturday and that's good just in cause something happens to us. Now mom and dad know what to do to help us until we can get to a vet. Mom showed me a video of what she got daddy for an anniversary gift... a helicopter lesson. Dad always wanted to fly one so he finally did. Mom showed me the video and it looked like fun, but noisy!

So that's about all I've been up to. I know, nothing too exciting but at least I'm not totally bored. I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend and check out my Sunday entry to see the bestest part of the weekend for me:)

Last weekend

Well, we made it through the hurricane. I'm really glad we didn't have any problems here. Didn't even lose power. Mom and dad were prepared though. I hope everyone out there is okay and didn't suffer any major problems.

Okay, now about last weekend. All I can say is I was BUSY!!!

Friday when mom got home we went for a visit with Danny. I was really geared up cause mom didn't get a chance to take us out to play before like normal so I was ready to play with Danny. He threw the ball for me and I could have played for hours. But we only played for a little then he wanted to take me for a walk. I really enjoyed our walk, except for when we passed this guy that was using some blower thing on the leaves and it was really loud. After we were done at Danny's we went home then grandma came over. As soon as she got there, her and mom went to the church to help set up for a rummage sale. When they got back grandma played with us:) Grandma and mom did some things together and grandma spent the night since dad was in the mountains. That was the first time grandma ever stayed with us and it was nice:)

Saturday mom, grandma, echo and I went to Manor Care. Mom made us dress up in our costumes (as you can see from my main pix, I was a hot dog). Everyone was really happy to see us and though I was really cute in my costume. I was worried that they might eat me though since I was a hot dog and they didn't have lunch yet. But we gave them all treats (instead of tricks) and then they didn't seem hungry:) After we were done there, we went home and grandma went home too. We pretty much just chilled the rest of the day and I didn't mind cause I was pretty pooped from my visit. Mom did leave in the evening to go to search and rescue training but I slept.

Sunday was another visit. This time we went to Country Meadows. Again, everyone loved my costume and I wasn't worried at all about getting eaten cause we went after lunch this time. The people there were happy to see us and liked their treats too:) When we got home, dad was back from the cabin and we were happy to see him. And it was Sunday so you know what that means... football! I hung out with mom upstairs and watched the Patriots pound San Diego and dad's Raiders won too. Mom did give us a quick groom cause my nails were long and my butt was shaggy. I look much better now.

Then of course you know all about my Monday and the storm. Can you believe they let mom out of work earlier and she has off today too? Mom was shocked cause they NEVER do that. Not even during the blizzard a few years ago and not even during the flood last year. Maybe they're getting a heart? Anyway, mom was home with us today and the wind stopped, but still raining. We did go for a ride with mom and she stopped by to check on the horses. We had to stay inside though and I'm glad cause when mom got back in the car, boy did she stink! She said the stalls were really bad and she cleaned them the best she could. Boy am I glad I'm not a horse!

So that's about it. I doubt we'll be doing much the rest of this week. We were suppose to start agility training Thursday, but they cancelled cause of the hurricane. We are going to the cabin though and I'm looking forward to it cause it's been too long!

I hope everyone is doing well and if you are without power, hang in there! We'll say a prayer for all that it comes back on soon and that everyone is okay.
