My visit with Danny

Last night I had a visit with Danny and let me tell you it was hot! Instead of playing ball a lot, mom let him take me for a longer walk, which was better than chasing after the ball. Danny gets better and better every time I see him. He's not afrai of me a all anymore. He'll fix my leash and collar, he'll put his hand on me when we stop to cross the street, he hands me treats without dropping them and he even runs around in the yard and plays a little chase with me. All these things he would never do before. I am so glad that Danny is doing so well and I look forward to my visits with him:)

A really fun weekend!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good Memorial Day weekend, I sure did! It was reallly hot, but mom made sure we stayed cool. When we got there Friday, of course the grass needed cut. Mom and dad both worked on that while us dogs played. We just finished up when mom's friend Jen and her husband Ron came. They brought their two big percheron horses and guess who else? My friend Tanner B!! I hadn't seen him in so long and I was so happy to see him:D We played just like old times but he did mellow a bit since last time I saw him so he didn't play as long as usual. That was okay though I was just glad to have my friend there. Friday night we all hung out on the patio and relaxed. Saturday it was a hot one! We went to get ice cream but the fair wasn't open yet so no ice cream:( But we went to the covered bridge and we got to go swimming in the creek! That was a lot of fun. The water was moving fast in one spot so we had to be careful not to go there. Mom made us take a break on the rocks and you can see by the pix that I wasn't happy about having to get out of the water. But I guess I do need to take a break so I don't drown. Two other dogs came and all five of us played and had a lot of fun. We got to swim for over an hour. It was exactly what we needed with the hot weather. When we got back we all just relaxed. A storm blew up so we didn't get to sit outside until later. But honestly, we all were pretty tired so we didn't stay up late. Sunday was another hot one. Mom's friends did ride their horses in the morning but us dogs hung out at the cabin. Too hot to be running up and down the mountain. We played a bit in the yard until it got even too hot for that. After lunch, Tanner and his family left:( Hopefully they come back again.

After they left, mom, dad, Echo and I all went to the Flint Hollow property. Mom and dad cut the grass and us dogs just ran around then took naps under the truck to stay cool. When mom was done with her part, she took us back to the covered bridge to go swimming. The water was moving much faster because of the storm the night before. Mom had to come rescue both me and Echo once cause we didn't listen and we went in the really fast stuff. After that I made sure to stay where my feet were on the bottom and I could walk. When we got back,we went for a Kubota ride with mom. We did actually ride this time cause it was so hot mom felt bad. We did run down though cause neither of us would get back in the Kubota. I wanted to race Echo down and I won! The rest of the night we just relaxed and watched TV.

Monday was a relax day. All the grass was cut so nothing much to do. We spent pretty much time inside cause it was 92 degrees outside. Mom didn't want to take us swimming again cause we had another storm and she said it would be too dangerous. So us dogs just played outside for a while. Well, it wasn't a total loss cause Echo and I found this salamandar in the grass. It was dead so I bet you can guess what we did? Yep, we rolled all over it. Needless to say, we smelled pretty bad so mom gave us a bath. It felt good to get the bath, but after that, mom wouldn't let us do much cause she didn't want us rolling in anything again. It didn't matter too much to me cause I was tired from all the activity. Plus, Randy, Sharon and Tim all came for dinner and we all sat outside in the nice cool night air. That really put the icing on the cake for making me tired and I was more than happy when it was bedtime.

Today we had to pack up and head home:( It was hot again so mom let us stay inside while she cleaned the cabin. Usually we get sent outside so we don't get in the way or make more of a mess. I'm really glad she let us stay in cause it was 96 degrees! Can you believe this hot weather and it's not even summer yet! I loved the AC in the car and slept the entire way home. That's where I'm at now, napping as a nasty storm goes through. Mom took Echo to Manor Care when we got back cause I have a visit with Danny tomorrow. She said it's only fair. Other than my visit with Danny, I don't know what else is happening this week. I'll be sure to let you know if anything does.

Mom tried to post some pix from the church function a while ago and from this weekend. Only one would upload so check back later for them.

No visit:(

Not much has been going on here. As I'm sure most of you read in Echo's blog, she's feeling better. I'm glad cause now I get some attention and I have my playmate back.

I didn't get to go on any of my visits this week:( Mom started getting one of the migraine things again and this time it lasted three days! Poor mom. So as you can imagine, all I did was lay around and try to help mom feel better. Dad did throw the frisbee for us a couple of times and now that sissy is feeling better we played together in the yard, but its just not the same. Hopefully mom starts to feel better cause we are going to the cabin and I want to have fun with her there.

BTW, mom put my pix on so check them out. One of them is in black and white. Mom didn't realize she hit that button on her phone until after she took the pix. I think it looks pretty cool and something different.

Well, that's all for now. I probably won't post again until we get back. So I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend! Try to stay cool with the heatwave.

My sissy is back!

After being so sick, Echo is finally get back to herself. She played with me Friday night. She would fight me for the frisbee, but she was still weak and I could get it away from her pretty easy so I knew she still wasn't back to her normal self.

Saturday dad was cutting grass and had us out all day. Sissy seemed to be even better than the day before. She played frisbee longer and it was a bit more difficult for me to steal the frisbee from her, but I could still get it.

Sunday and I got my old sissy back!!! She was initiating me to play and we played in the house and outside and it was wonderful!! I even reaped the benefits for the special treats mom had to make Echo. They weren't as yummy as my begging strips, but still good and something different. Sunday night Echo finally ate on her own. I never saw mom and dad so happy:D

I know I wasn't the best sister through all this with Echo and jealousy roared it's ugly head a couple of times. But I hope everyone knows I love my sissty and don't ever want anything to happen to her. I am the way I am and that will never change, but it doesn't mean I ever want my sissy to go away. I would be lost without her. But she's back and our life is almost totally normal again. I'm looking forward to our mountains trip and my friend Tanner B. is going too. I haven't seen him in like forever!! I am really looking forward to this weekend:) Mom says I have two visits this week, one with Danny and one at Manor Care. Normally mom would let Echo go to Manor when I go to Danny's, but since she's been so sick, she doesn't want to chance it. That's okay, I'd like to see all my friends again, especially Sarah since I really didn't get to see her last week cause she was so sick. I will post after my visits.

Well, I think that's all for now. Mom loaded some pix to her PC last night to check back later in the week to see if she got them posted.

I got some attention

Yesterday mom came home from work and took me for a walk. It was nice to get a little attention from her. I know she's worried about Echo and I am too. The walk was nice for both of us since it was a beautiful day. We both got some fresh air and much needed time together. Mom also played frisbee with me when we got back.

Mom brought Echo back home for the night and she seemed better. She played tug with me a little and even played a quick game of chase with me outside. It was short-lived though cause she got sick again:( She became upset and depressed when she got sick. I sure hope they can keep her from vomitting and get more food in her. If she sees she can eat without vomitting, I know she will get better. Please say some prayers for my sissy.

When's sissy getting better?

I'm sure most of you have been reading Echo's blog to see how she's doing. I just want to know, when is she going to get better? I want her to get better so I can have my sissy back, but also so I can have my mom back. She is constantly with Echo. I know I shouldn't be jealous and I can sense that something is wrong, but I am jealous. Mom does hug me, give me kisses, treats, and even played with my last night for a bit. But it upsets me how much she is cuddling with Echo and always sleeping in the living room with her at night. Of course I don't want anything to happen to Echo and I want her to get better so I can play with her, but I really miss my mom:( I know mom is doing her best and that Echo needs her right now, but so do I. Am I wrong for feeling this way?

Oh yeah, obviously we won't be going to the dock diving event this weekend. Echo isn't allowed and because Echo is so sick, mom doesn't want to leave her alone all day while we go. That really stinks cause I was looking forward to it:(

Sissy is sick:(

Last night I went to Manor Care. I got to see all my friends and it was really nice. Joe was wheeling around the hall and mom took a picture of me and Joe so I'm sure she'll post when she gets a chance. Except Ms. Sarah, she is still really sick. She didn't even want us to come in the room cause she didn't want to make us sick. Please put your paws together and say a prayer that she gets better. This is two weeks in a row that she's been so sick.

Speaking of sick, sissy got really sick last night. She was fine after work and we played. But when I got home from Manor Care, she wasn't in the mood to play and then she got really sick a bunch of times. In between being sick, she laid on mom. Mom camped out in the living room with her all night. I wasn't too happy about that cause I wanted mom in the bedroom with me, but I guess being with Echo was the right thing for her to do. I don't think either one of them got much sleep. This morning when dad let me out of the bedroom, I tried to lay with mom, but Echo wouldn't let me. She was really sick and mom took her to the vet this morning. She must have stayed cause mom didn't bring her back home yet. It's just like the last time she got so sick. The only thing is, mom didn't feed her anything and we weren't outside that she could get into anything so we're at a loss as to why she is sick. Please say a prayer that sissy gets better soon. I know I get jealous cause mom spends extra time with her when she's sick like this, but I do love my sissy and I want her back home so I can be jealous even more. I'll keep you posted.

No swimmy:(

This weekend wasn't quite everything is was suppose to be. Friday we barely saw mom. She came home from work, changed clothes then was gone. She was going to do some things with Megan, but us doggies were't allowed cause they were riding go karts and stuff like that. Then she went to the casino with a friend. Mom was really tired when she got home so she showered and went right to bed so I didn't get to do anything.

Saturday was better. Mom had to feed the horses in the morning and we were allowed to go. It was a beautiful day! We played frisbee and played chase. After mom was done with barn, we went to the Hummel Trail for a walk. We never went there before. It was a nice walk and even nicer that we didn't have to be on a leash:) When we got to the end of one trail, mom saw another one that went up a hill and she thought it continued. Us dogs went ahead of mom and waited for her at the top. It was kind of steep and took mom a little longer than us but when she got to the top, she realized it really wasn't part of the trail, it was just a path to the railroad track. When mom saw that we were standing in the middle of the track and she heard the train coming, she freaked out! She yelled for us to come and I knew immediately there was something wrong so I ran to mom and went back down the path. Echo on the other hand stood there trying to figure it out. It wasn't until the train blew it's whistle and mom kept calling her that she figured it out and ran off the track. Mom was so upset that she almost got us hit by a train. But mom didn't know what was up there and she wouldn't have been able to stop us from going up even if she wanted to cause you know us doggies, we have to check everything out. Fortunately though we are all okay. We finished out walk and mom took some pictures which I'm sure she'll post. When we got home mom just took a nap cause she had to go to Chelsea's bridal shower. Mom wasn't thrilled about having to give up a beautiful weekend at the cabin to go to a shower, but she did. Me, I took a nap too cause all that walking tired me out.

Sunday was Mother's Day so I was on my best behavior for mom. We were suppose to go swimmy in the afternoon, but when mom got home from lunch with grandma and the rest of the Waple clan, she didn't feel good and took a nap. I actually laid on the couch with her and let her hold me cause I knew she wasn't feeling too good. I was upset cause we didn't get to go swimmy, but I didn't show it cause I felt bad that mom was sick on Mother's Day:( She said it must have been something she ate. She did feel a little better after her nap and she threw frisbee for us so it wasn't a total loss.

Tonight I go to Manor Care to see my friends. Other than that, I don't know what is going on this week. I do know we go to Maryland on Saturday for dock diving... YIPEE!!! So if anything good happens, look for a post.

Dogfight!!!

Last night there was some excitement at my house. Dad was out cleaning up our poop from the yard so he could cut the grass. Echo and I were playing ball in the driveway. I heard the neighbor's dog barking, as usual, but didn't think anything of it. The next thing I know, Echo went flying across the yard and rolled Oregano (neighbor's dog) and bit him. Oregano got away from her and he went after dad! Echo grabbed him by the throat and pinned him down until his owner came for him. Me, I stayed out of the way. Here, Oregano bit dad in the leg and Echo saw it. That's what set her off. I must say, I'm proud of my little sis for protecting dad. I really wish I had her courage, but I'm just too much of a scardy cat (or should I say dog). I did go and check on dad once the excitement was over and he was okay. Oregano did break the skin, but nothing major. Trouble is, this is like the 4th person Oregano has bit. It's just a matter of time until the police take him away and it's all because his owners don't control him. Like mom always says, a dog is what the owner makes them. There are no bad dogs, only bad owners.
