Thank you to Dogster for picking me as a Diary Pick today, it is an honor:) I guess you all like my stories so I'll keep them coming starting with this week.
As you all know Emilie is staying with this week and let me tell you, she is like the Energizer bunny! She has been really good, buts he just LOVES us dogs and since I am so good with her, mom lets her hug, kiss and lay on me. I don't mind cause she's always gentle, but boy is it tiring being entertainment for a 2yr old! She plays with us all day and even gives me my medicine in the morning and night. I've learned to come when she calls me too and she just think that's cool. Yesterday we all went for a walk which was really nice. I do crash at the end of each day I can tell you that for sure! Mom said we only have a couple more days then Emilie goes home and that will be bittersweet. It's good cause I'll finally get some rest, but I will miss her:( I am looking forward to Santa Paws and I know I'll get some good stuff cause I have been VERY good, especially this past week. I also can't wait to go to the mountains next week. We get to stay for a while and I hope it snows sometime while we're there cause I love playing in the snow!
On another note, Poppy Waple had his heart surgery yesterday and all went well. It was a long day, but he is resting comfortably and he should be home in time for Christmas. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Mom is also doing better since Joe's funeral. We still miss him, but at least mom doesn't seem as sad. Of course, how can you have time to think about anything with a 2yr old running around so Emmie being here right now is a good thing.
Well, that's about all I have for now. We're getting ready to go for another walk with Emilie and then nap time after lunch. Trust me, us dogs take advantage of nap time too!

Life as I know it has changed for the week. Emilie is staying with us cause her mommy and daddy are away. I love my Emilie, but boy is she a busy little person. She LOVES us dogs and we always hear, "Echo, Chloe, Echo, Chloe, pet you, pet you". Mom said I am absolutely PAWSOME with her! I let her pet me, hug me, kiss me, play with me, pretty much whatever she wants. She loves when I give her kisses. I don't get stressed out at all except one time she dumped her entire bag of blocks on the floor and it made a loud noise and that kinda freaked me out. But other than that, I'm just making the most of my time with her. I can tell you that by the end of the night all of us are tuckered out!
We did get some snow this weekend and we played with Anna for a while on Saturday and mom played with us a little yesterday while Emilie was napping. I love the snow, but it does take a toll on me cause of my hip. Mom will only let me play for a little then she makes me stop cause she knows I'll pay the price later. I was hoping Emilie would play with us in the snow, but it has been too cold for her to be outside. Maybe next time. Last night we went for a ride to look at Christmas lights and it was nice to get out and about a little.
Mom seems to be doing better about losing Joe. Of course, you don't have time to think of much anything with Emilie around which is a good thing. I know mom is still sad, but at least Joe is resting in peace now and not suffering.
I don't think we're going anywhere this week cause we have Emilie all week, but that's fine cause she keeps me plenty busy!
Well, I'm going to take advantage of Emilie being at Nanny Waple's house and get a nap. I hope everyone has a good week and I'll bark at you all later:)

I want to thank all the sympathy wishes all my pals have offered to us. They are greatly appreciated. Mom is doing okay, but I can tell it still bothers her and I'm sure it will for a while. Joe was a great guy that we will all miss.
Also thank you to the congrats on my DDP the other day. With all that is going on, mom hasn't had a chance to post so I am deeply honored by being picked again and thank you Dogster.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that before we got to Manor Care Wednesday night we did stop to see Kay, the lady from mom's church. We can't go in the house too far cause she has a kitty that doesn't like us,but we were able to visit with Kay at the foyer and it was nice to see her again.
Last night we ran along with mom and Barb on some errands, but the fun is about to begin tonight. Emilie is coming to stay with us for an entire week so I will have someone to play with me all I want. She loves us dogs and I'm very excited about her coming. I'm also excited about the snow we are suppose to get. I heard it on the news last night and I just LOVE the snow and having Emilie to play with us in the snow is even better! I hope all my pals can enjoy the snow too and please stay safe!

I am writing tonight with a very sad heart. My good friend Joe at Manor Care passed away today. Mom found out when we first got there and needless to say we were all upset and poor mom was crying. Joe's wife Lois and their son were coming down the hall and we all cried together. God love mom cuz she pulled it together long enough for us to visit Roy but then we headed home and that was understandable. Please say some prayers for Joe's family to make it through this difficult time. And one for mom to help her too, she really does love Joe like a grandfather. We will all miss you Joe.

The weekend started out rough. The weather was really bad with wind, rain, fog and it was dark. Poor mom was a nervous wreck til we finally got to the cabin. Needless to say with the bad weather we couldn't play outside at all so we just chilled in the cabin.
Saturday was cold, but it finally stopped raining. Only problem was that it is hunting season so mom wouldn't let us out for any period of time cause of all the hunters and she was afraid of stray bullets. So we hung out with mom in the cabin watching TV. Dad was hunting all day, but didn't have any luck.
Sunday we left early afternoon and in a hurry too cause it started snowing really heavy and mom doesn't like to drive in it. Fortunately we made it home okay before it got really bad. I LOVE the snow and to play in it. Mom let us out for a little to play and then she threw the frisbee for us too which was fun. But it wasn't for very long cause mom got cold and she was also worried about me sliding and hurting my hip. You know, I'm really starting to NOT like my hips cause they take all the fun away:(
Today when we went out to potty it was very icy so we were extra careful walking. Poor mom had to get down our steep driveway and I didn't hear a crash so I assume she made it down without running into our neighbor's house. You laugh, but that happened before. Our jeep was in the driveway and the brake popped and the jeep rolled down our driveway and right into our neighbor's house. I saw it all and it wasn't pretty!
I doubt we'll be doing anything tonight cause of the ice, but mom said if the weather allows, we'll have a busy night tomorrow night. I'll let you know if we get to do anything exciting.
Stay warm and stay safe!

Well so far our daddy didn't get any deer. He saw a bunch of doe and hopefully they will be around next week when he can hunt them, but as of now, now deer meat for us:(
This week so far we went to Country Meadows for a visit and it was a nice one. We were in the main area for a while because a few people sat down and talked with us. Of course Echo had to show off and play the piano and do a bunch of tricks and she gets lots of treats for doing it. But the joke is on her cause I don't have to do anything and I get treats too!
Other than visiting Country Meadows, we haven't done much. Mom throws frisbee for us after work, but it gets dark soon after she gets home so then we're back in the house. I really don't mind much though cause my hip has been bothering me and when I play I go all out, but then I pay for it later in the night. Speaking of night, I've been sleeping on dad's side of the bed while he's at deer camp and I'm loving it! It sure is a lot better than sleeping on the floor that's for sure.
Well, that's about all I have for now. I hope any of my pals affected by this wild weather are nice and cozy in their homes, but still get to go out and play too!

Saturday as promised, we went for a kubota ride. We didn't stay in the woods long cause of hunting season, but it was fun to go for a ride and mom let us walk back down and that was fun too cause I like sniffing everything on the way:) We did play frisbee for a little and then we went antiquing again with mom and dad. I don't mind even if I have to wait in the car for a little cause it's nice to go for rides:) The rest of the evening we just relaxed and kept nice and warm in the cabin.
Sunday we saw 4 doe and a buck right out in the field where we play. It was really cool and mom said she is always so proud of us dogs for watching the deer and never running after them. Us animals had to head back home in the afternoon since mom had to work Monday, but dad stayed and I wish I could have stayed with him, but his buddies were coming to hunt and they'd be in the woods all day anyway so I guess going home with mom was better.
When we got home mom unpacked then we went to the barn with her. It was cold, but I didn't mind and Echo and I had fun running around chasing each other. We did help mom bring the horses in and got them fed and settled in for the night. When we got home we all cuddled up in bed and watched TV. since dad isn't home right now I get his spot on the bed and I love it! Don't get me wrong I miss my dad and I love when he's home with us, but when he's not, I do take advantage of grabbing his spot in bed:)
Tomorrow night we're going to Country Meadows and we haven't been there since Halloween so I know everyone will be happy to see us. Thursday Poppy Waple has his heart surgery so please say a prayer for him that everything goes well.
That's about all I have for now. I'll be sure to let you know if anything new or exciting happens. Good luck to all the hunters out there!

Wow! Everyone must have been on the site yesterday giving the free gifts and it crashed! At least that's what mom thinks cuz when she signed in she couldn't give gifts or post, so sorry for not sending any gifts for Thanksgiving to all my generous pals who sent them to me. Thank you all so much and I promise to return the love next time...if it doesn't happen again.
Ok now to my happenings. Tuesday we went to Manor Care and we had a good time. It was Roy's 90th birthday so we wore our party hats, yes real party hats and I'm sure mom will post the pix to prove it. We had balloons, cake and everything and it was fun:). Mom's friend Barb went with us again too which is nice. We visited all our friends and it was nice to see Joe and his wife in the rec area. Joe is doing so much better now that his wife is on the same floor and I'm so happy:D
Wednesday mom was busy shopping and running errands after work so we didn't do much, but that changed on Thanksgiving. After mom got home from her Thanksgiving dinner we headed to the mountains and I was sooooooooooo happy!! It has been a month since we went and I missed it. We didn't get there until after dark but I didn't care cuz I was just happy to be there. Dad came up a few hours later.
Today was really cold but we played outside for a while anyway. Then we went antiquing with mom and dad. They found a couple good things. We did take a little walk with mom to throw out some food for the critters. I was all wound up and it was a little icy cuz they had snow so mom made me stop running so my hip didn't slip out again. This stupid hip takes away all my fun:(. Anyway, mom said tomorrow we'll go for a kubota ride but can't stay in the woods long cuz hunting season starts Monday and dad doesn't want us disturbing the deer so I guess no fun in the woods for a couple weeks. Oh we'll at least I'm in the mountains and that's what matters most!

Can you believe it? Dogster picked me the other day as DDP! I don't know what I've done to deserve this honor once again, especially since nothing has been happening worth me posting. Bur regardless, thank you Dogster!
So as you could see by my lack of posting, nothing has been happening around here. Dad is working a lot of hours for the outage and mom is crazy busy with trying to get work done around the house and also doing Christmas stuff. She's making calendars of us for our friends at the nursing homes so that takes a lot of time looking for the pictures. That's pretty much what she's been doing in all her down time. I like Christmas, but it does take up a lot of mom's time. I know we're all wound tight too cause we haven't been to the cabin in almost a month and that is unheard of! We all need that time away and I can't wait to go next week!!!

Poor mom has been so busy the past few days she totally missed that I was picked as DDP for 2 out of 4 days. WOW! Now that is quite the honor and I thank Dogster from the bottom of my heart. I don't know what story I told to deserve such and honor, but I greatly appreciate it:)
I wish I had some good story to follow up my DDP with, but unfortunately mom has been really busy with search and rescue training the past few days us dogs haven't done much. She did walk us when she came home on Saturday and yesterday she played a little frisbee, but other than that, I've just been chilling. I did cuddle with mom last evening to watch a movie and I did really enjoy doing that.
I don't think we have a whole lot going on this week either. We may make a visit to Country Meadows depending on how the week goes. Mom did promise that we WILL be going to the mountains soon and I can't wait!!!!! That time can't come fast enough!
Our thoughts are with all those affected by the severe weather that has been going on recently. Please say a prayer for them all.
