Birthday: October 10th 2005 Likes: being in a lap Pet-Peeves: cold air Favorite Toy: all of them Favorite Food: treats Favorite Walk: The back yard b/c she loves to chase the squirrels and chipmunks. Best Tricks: She understands not to bark at certain hours of the morning and actually does a "silent bark" to get someone's attention. She simply flaps her jaws as if she was barking but with no sound. Arrival Story: Tina picked us out when we were browsing a local shopping center trying to kill some time prior to seeing a movie in the theater. It was a hot day and as we were walking from store to store we noticed a Pet Rescue Service with all of the animals tucked in their seperate kennels. Each and every animal looked at us (if they were not sleeping) and then looked away as if to say "Oh well, another one passes us by". One dog in particular flashed her big brown eyes at us and followed us with those eyes as we TRIED to walk past her. We did not make it. When we asked the foster parent to let us visit with her it became obvious that she had suffered trauma to her leg. The foster parent explained that she had been left tied outside with a leash which grew into her arm and had to be surgically removed. You would not know she had been through such abuse/neglect as she was sooo happy and bubbly while visiting us. We put her back in her cage and went to the movies. I was miserable during the entire movie and as soon as it let out my husband gave me the money and the car keys to head straight back to Tina. She looked as if she knew we were coming back. Bio: Tina had horrible seperation anxiety when we first got her. Every time we would leave she would eat the couch, the love seat, the coffee table, the rugs, etc. Our vet offered drugs which we refused. After patience and training (and some new furniture) Tina is now a fantastic member of our family. Forums Motto: Sleep under covers between mom & dad The Groups I'm In: !!! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their family. For all those out there that didn’t have a forever family; we thought of you and prayed for you. We know that many, many of us are still out there in a cage with concrete floors, warm/hot water, bars as a door, pee on our floor and a person passing by on occasion to make sure we are still breathing. We know that your Thanksgiving was not one of celebration, thanks and love. We know you cried yourself to sleep the night prior and the night of. Our wish on our Thanksgiving was for YOU! Not US! YOU! We want everyone to realize that while they had the warm surroundings of comfort, family, friends and great food…you were in hell. A cold, careless H E L L! Bless all of your sweet souls for holding on to hope and understand we are doing EVERYTHING WE CAN to get you and yours out of the hell you are in. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL NEVER FORGET EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! There will be no peace until there is PEACE FOR ALL!
