Harley's Hi-Lites - Visits with Tornado VictimsMay 26th 2011 7:00 pm[ View A Comments (12) ] Momma got me up early this morning and said we have to get you in the sink for a bath and then dry and groom you HD. Momma got us both ready to go and she put my vest and my special hospital ID with my picture on it and off we went in the car. The hospital we went to today had quite a few of the tornado injured and we first started out in the E.R. and it was full and I was able to help lots of the peeps and puts smiles on their faces. On the way to ICU a lady was going down the hallway crying and she stopped me and said, you are just what I needed today. She got down on the floor with me and I tried to lick some of her tears away and she laughed! I was sure happy bout that. ICU was real busy and the waiting room was filled and momma and I made the rounds with a visit to each person. Next we went to pediatrics and the little toots were glad to see a puppy making rounds instead of the doctors, BOL! Then we had a request to make a visit with a lady who was disabled and was injured in the tornado and her service dog did not make it. She was so sad when I first got in her room and she was all banged up, but momma put me in her bed and she was able to pet me and that made her smile. We talked a long time with her and she did have her other puppy and he survived so we were glad bout that. We love this hospital because they are a storm shelter for people too and they let the peeps bring their pets with them! They said they had dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets there Tueday during the storm. Well after two hours I told momma that I was getting pretty tired and she OK HD, I think you did a great job today. I slept all the way home, I was a very tired little Therapy Dog.

Keep up the great work! Dear Ones....... We have been trying to get stuff to those who need too. You are truely Earth Angels ... you do so much to help and comfort. You are in our thoughts HUGGSSSSSSSSSSS Thanks everyfurry! Mom and I consider our visits our ministry to the residents, staff and patients. We are honored to get to meet such wonderful and caring people and every visit is different. HD, you and your Mom are truly wonderful for raising the spirits of so many. Every time I read about your visits, I am so proud of you. You are a precious gift. Keep spreading the joy. You make a real difference. That is just fantastic, HD. You must be very proud of all the good work you do, making people smile when things might not be so good in their lives. That's so fantastic Harley. You and your mom should be really proud of the great work you are doing. High fives HD! Huggs! You are so awesome HD, you and your mom help so many peeps and bring such a good image to our breed! We are so sorry about what happened to peoples, and we're glad you could put a little smile on their faces for a while. |
