Hi My Name is Shilo!
I was found emaciated in a small town in Wisconsin by the local shelter, I don't remember if I ran away or not, doesn't matter any longer, I have a wonderful new home now! My new family found me on the web, they were looking for a lab/mix same color as me and a girl. When they saw my face, they fell in love and came to get me the very next day! I was at the shelter for a full 2 weeks before I got real sick, they were real good to me and I was gaining some weight. I was very sick, as I contacted Parvo Virus. But my new friends took me home anyway! My first week was alittle rough, I slept alot...she kept putting pills down my throat ....and she kept putting water and Gatorade down my throat! Sometimes I would get a bite of food, but not much . She even slept with me so I wouldn't be alone or scared. After awhile I started feeling better and she started taking me on walks in soft fields of clover... I never smelled so many different smells! I always lived in the city before...I had to find my own food, shelter and protection from bullies! I was only 5 or 6 months old then, so you could say I got Street Smart!! But this place is not at all like I remember! I guess I live on a farm now! There are some really BIG dogs here that make funny noises, MOOOOO, really wierd! At first they really scared me, but now it is ok, cuz I know she is not going to leave me with them!!
I am discovering alot of new things! Like yesterday, she put some cold hard things in my water and when I heard them clink!!??? Boy, I had to really check that out! I did take a drink and found the water was cool like fresh rain!! I know cuz I used to lick the grass in the morning for my water, I still don't trust those hard things tho! They have some really big machines here to, that scared me at first but I am ok with them now. They have good smelling and tasting poop on them and I really like that! She doesn't let me eat alot of it tho and even takes it out of my mouth! She says I have a lot of issues cuz I lived alone for so long! But I'm doing my best to learn! Here is to a long wonderful companionship! I have been here one month and I already am learning that she wants me when she says "Come" and some funny words like sit, stay, and laydown! I don't know what they mean yet, but I am sure she will try to let me know! Gosh, I love my new life!
