Finding Mom where ever she hides, playing soccer with a tennis ball
Hey I was born into a very happy family of Westies in Ellensberg, WA. I had 3 brothers and sisters and we played and had fun. My doggie daddy lived nearby so I got to know him too. As I started to mature, I am still starting to do that, people would come to visit and one by one my bros and sis's started to leave and I began to wonder "what the heck, am I the ugly duckling here or what?". Turns out that my Mom and Dad lived far away in a place called Alaska. "What's an Alaska I thought." At any rate they had to fly and drive to come and adopt me so I managed to stay around my real Mom for a while longer. This was probably good because she taught me some good lessons, like, "no peeing on the floor." Altho I did have a bit of a problem with that at first. At any rate Mom and Dad showed up one morning, I ran right to Mom and gave her tons of kisses, then checked out Dad and figured he would be good for the ball playing part of my life. They bundled me up and off we went on this great adventure. We drove for a while and then got to this place called SeaTac, it was awesome, there were prospects all over that place. All I had to do was wiggle my tail and someone would come over and scratch me ears. I still like airports. I have discovered if I tummy walk I will always get some special attention. I have been thinking of charging for ear scratching at airports. Well we got on this big airplane and flew off. I just sort of nestled in my kennel and fell asleep, in cabin of course, not to worry Mom & Dad were taking care of that stuff. A few hours later we arrived, boy was it cold and "hey, what's this white stuff." I tell you that took some getting used to. Here I was a mere 3 month old pup and I had to go out in that stuff?? Well it is a great life up here, Mom and Dad are almost retired so we spend just a lot of time together and when Dad does go to the office, most times I get to go too. I even have some favorite clients who bring me toys and snacks. I love my big sis, Marley, she took over where my doggie mommie left off and helped me thru the pre-teen stage. She lives nearby with Mom & Dad's daughter so we see each other most days. Marley left us this summer and I miss her so, when her Mom comes over I look all over for my sweet sis but alas, I never find her any more. Ms Lilli, my cat, and I play hide and seek and tear around the house chasing each other, at times it is hard to determine who is chasing who, but we have just a lot of fun together. I have gotten used to the snow and actually enjoy it now.. When it gets really cold, like - 30 F, Mom puts on my booties and jacket and Dad will take me out for 20 or so throws with the chucker. I absolutely love that and if he forgets I will simply sit in front of him and stare until he takes me out to play. AHHH ITS A GREAT LIFE UP HERE and I've managed to train Mom & Dad pretty well, they mostly do what I want.
This dog absolutely owns us. We have been lucky to been able to have very long-term relationships with our dogs, all have been terriers and terrier mixes. We had had a Scotty, but were looking for a new friend who was some smaller in stature and more mellow in temperment. We found her.
