first camping trip of the year

well, we went camping this weekend, but it wasn't as fun as normal... it was all cold and wet either raining or snowing on us the whole time. well except for a couple of hours on the second day i suppose where we went for a quick hike while the weather held.

so it wasn't all bad, i did get to use my new backpack and run around a little, but there was no fire the whole time to be warm by, and we were trapped in my "cousins" teeny tiny camper the whole time. there was five of us and 4 hu-mans all sitting in there trying to stay warm and dry. bummer.

we also found out the hard way that Daunte isn't very street smart. believe it or not, he actually tried to chase a truck!!! he got away from mom while she was going to tie us all up and a truck drove by and he ran right out in front of it barking like he could take on a truck! mom was soooo SCARED and MAD that he did that. she says that she's gonna have to do something about that, but she's not entirly sure how since he's NEVER tried to before now.... geez, that Daunte.

I'm officially a canine good citizen!!

So mom has been going on and on about this test that i was supposed to take. well i finally did, and passed with flying colors!! even though all i did was stuff i do all the time anyway!! the only thing i wasn't so sure about was when mom had to leave me with the evaluator. She was nice, i was just concerned about being left!!

so now she keeps talking about how she's gonna be able to take me to work more often and a bunch of other fun stuff, so i'm thinking that that sounds like fun!

YAY SPRING!!

Well, now that it's getting nice, mom has broken out my backpack and we're getting ready to go hiking!! YAY!!!

I've hiked with a backpack before, so i just have to get used to carrying weight again. Daunte has never carried on before though, and he's having a harder time with it! It was really funny actually, the first time he had it on, he kept trying to rub it off!! he tried rubbing it off on mom, on me, and on anything on our walk, hedges, trees, fire hidrants, hehehe, silly Daunte.

He's getting better though. He'll be ready by June when we take our first camping/hiking trip. :)

GGAAA!! two baths in one week!!

Mom found this nasty little bug called a tick on Daunte earlier this week, and made all of us have a flea and tick bath... soooo not my idea of a good time. Especially since she was all excited to do it because she bought this attachment for the shower head so that she didn't have to use the old method of filling the tub and using a cup. and i suppose that the new way is slightly better.... but still.

Then, i snuck behind moms back and ran down to the bottom of the little ditch while we were on our walk today. mom didn't realize till i came running up the bank covered the black nasty tar-like swamp liquid that was at the bottom... hehehe. course, that back fired on me because i went straight to the tub when we got home...

Darn it all, my butt gets all poofy after a bath, and it had just settled back down to the way that i like it too!!

Mom's home!!!

Mom came home today!!! i thought that she was never coming back!!! but i heard her car coming down the street and was waiting for her in the window when she got out of her car. i just about turned myself inside out i was so excited to see her!! :)

then we got to go to petsmart, which was really fun since i hadn't been able to go for the whole 2 weeks she was gone!! (feel sorry for me...!) she signed me up for intermediate training classes so that i can eventually get my CGC!!! yay! :)

oh my gosh!!

mom brought my brother Daunte home!!! holy cow, i havn't seen him in like a year! i'm so excited that he's come to live with us cuz now i finally have someone to play with all the time since Lucy doesn't really like to play... whooho!!!

Christmas...?

So yesterday it was this day called Christmas, it was my first one with mom and dad, and it was fun! first of all, grandma came over early in the morning and helped mom cook lots and lots of food. it smelled soooo good in the house, i just lerked around the kitchen and caught any pieces that hit the floor, it was great! :)

then, a whole bunch of people came over just to see ME!! ok, well maybe not JUST to see me, but i sure made the most of it :) i was a little excited and may have jumped on a couple of people right at first, but for the most part i minded my manners and only tried to nab something off the counters once, AND that was after everyone left...

over all though, mom said that she was proud of me because i did very well :) i even got a cool squeeky stuffed bone! :))

i am SO smart!!

i learned a new trick today!! and it only took me two sessions to figure it out :) i learned to Spin!!
poor lucy though... she doesn't really get it...she fits into that "old (ish) dog new tricks" category. it takes her a little longer than me to pick up new things :)

Like tonight, we got to go to our pet store, and there was a beagle there!! who-ho, i love to play with other dogs, but lucy... not so much. i can't figure her out, she's ok with me, but really doens't care for new dogs. she was ok in a few minutes, but in the mean time she threw a FIT!! i mean come on! how EMBARASSING!

my first encounter with puppies!!

Today we had these two little puppies at our house!! i couldn't quite figure them out, i wanted to play but i didn't know how too! So i just did a lot of sniffing, but every once in a while i couldn't contain myself and would end up with a case of zoomies and run around the yard hoping that they'd chase after me... it didn't work though... all it did was scare them, oops...

They were fun though, mom is always talking about fostering puppies, so hopefully there will be more in the house soon, even though they don't know how to play yet, i really liked them!! Maybe i can be a big sister and teach them how to play!! yeah, i think that's exactly what i'll do! :)

Play date!!

Today we went down to the river where Lucy and i get to go running, but this time everyone got to come!!! All my buddies, Beau and Missy and Lucy, it was so much fun!!

We ran and ran and played and rolled in all sorts of smelly stuff, ahh the life of a dog, it don't get much better than this!!! And now i think i'm gonna go and take a nap!! :)
