I have two little boys, Dasher my Yorkie and Mickey the Maltese. I have never seen such a devoted companion in my life. Mickey I believe had pretty bad life. I got him from rescue. He was so scared he would put his head down all of the time. I would say Mickey you are a Maltese you come from Royalty and I would hold his head up in my hands.
He would run underbeds becsuae he was afraid of every thing. It took time but now Mickey is trustful and he hold his head up all of the time and he runs from no one But he is a barker.
He was 7 years old when he came home to me and He trusted me a stranger to love him and to to make sure he was ok after years of being mistreated. He is always by my side . He the sweetest little boy in the world. And I love him to death. How can I not be devoted to Mickey after he let me put his life in my hands.
