I am very much a "talker" and fuss at Poppa if I don't get two walks at the park every day. Poppa laughs because people he doesn't even know will say "Hi Ralph", and I'll answer "Woo-woooo".

Livin' the good life at last

I'm at Rainbow Bridge, now

I've had a rough last 6 months, but I really didn't expect to find myself here tonight. I was at the vet for Christmas and again for New Years, bu last weekend I was feeling well enough to go see my nephews Rocke and Raoudi do agility.
I started now feeling like eating again a couple of days ago, and went back to the vet again today, and got fluids and medicine.
Poppa gave me my pills tonight, but found my body in the living room just a while later.
Please send good thoughts to my Poppa - this place is ok, and my Human sis and the rest of his family need him a while longer. I'm afraid he won't go on walks without me, and he needs to to be able to stay around.

Love,

Ralph

I'm feeling a bit better!

The nice folks at Mississippi State didn't find out what was causing my problems, but the medicine they gave me made me feel a little better.
My vet was from England, and one of the students who worked wth me was from, I think, Spain. Sis teased me about spending her inheirtance on my international team of specialists, but she's been talking to Poppa on the phone every day, so I know she loves me and doesn't really mind.

When I got home, I still didn't want to eat, so Poppa took me back to the vet yesterday, and they gave me steriods. I don't know if this means I can never play professional sports, but it made me feel well enough to eat.

So, I'm eating, and that makes Poppa happy, and Poppa being happy makes me feel even better. Poppa and Sis and I are all very appreciative of all the pups and their people who prayed and crossed paws and finger for us.

Love,

Ralph

Say a prayer for me, please

Hello, my name is Ralph, and I'm new here. I belong to Poppa Pete, Annie, Bo, Rocke and Raoudi's grandpa.

I've had some rough times in my 8 years, first geting lost with my girlfriend right before our puppies were born, but getting into rescue. Then I got adopted by a nice couple and had a doggie sister, but our parent got divorced a few years later and sent me back to rescue.

Then my foster mom's father came to visit, and fell in love with me. I went home with Poppa on Thanksgiving Day 2006.

It's been the good life ever since, until a couple of weeks ago. Poppa and I went for a walk every day, sometimes twice, and he hardly ever went anywhere without me, got me the biggest, most comfy bed ever, fenced the yard for me, and told everyone I was the best dog ever.

A couple of weeks ago, I stopped eating. Poppa took me to the vet, and they thought I was sick from eating a piece of steak. I didn't get better, and Poppa took me to another vet. They were afraid I had colon cancer, and did an operation to find out. I didn't have cancer, so they tested for something called pythiosis, but I didn't have that, either.
Right now I'm at the vet school at Mississippi State University getting tests.
My Poppa's very sad and worried, and so is my human sister (who used to be my foster mom). Without me there, Poppa's not walking every day like his doctor says he should, and Sis and I are afraid he'll get sick, too.
Please God, I'm only 8 - that's not a bit old for a Schnauzer, and Poppa needs me. Please let the vets help me get well and go home to Poppa.
