Best Tricks:
Doesn't like "tricks" & looks at me like I am crazy whenever I have tried to teach him "tricks". I think he thinks it is not dignified to do so. But he listens really well and does all the basic commands; sit, lie down, and etc. Literally reads my mind...
Arrival Story:
Our local animal welfare society puts an ad in every Sunday's newspaper for animals that are available for adoption at our county animal shelter. Back in 1999, I saw Murray's beautiful face in that ad and had to go and adopt him. Apparently, he was found near a school, running around playing with the kids and they never found his owners. He was 10 months old.
Bio:
I am a member of our local animal welfare society and Murray became our unofficial mascot. He attended all events and even went on AWS visits to elementary schools to visit with the children because he is such a great dog and has been well socialized. He has had his picture in the paper for AWS events and was in a calendar. Many people call him, "Murray the Perfect Dog". Murray has a sister, Abby(who rules) and brother, Beauregard, who are GSD mixes and were rescues also. He is a gentle soul and loves people, especially children but still acts like a tough guy if he think someone is outside near the house. He gets scared of big dogs (which is too funny considering how big he is) and intimidating little dogs.

Murray went to Rainbow Bridge on January 17, 2009. The vet discovered he had a tumor in his abdomen and more tumors on his lungs. It came on very quick and sudden. I could not stand the thought of him suffering and he was so weak and uncomfortable so I did what was best for him. One of the hardest things, if not the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Murray was one of those "once in a lifetime dogs", the perfect dog. More human than dog and more intelligent than most humans.
If tears could build a stairway, and heartache make a lane, I'd walk all the way to Heaven to bring you back again...Murray, 01/17/09~Forever and always in my heart.
