Allergies

Seems like everyone mom and I know have allergies. Everyone is sneezing and snotting. Not much going on today at the house. Mom has been in the bed most of the day. Dad winterized the pool. I watched him do that from a far. I have been napping a lot myself.

Yesterday was a lot more fun. Mom took me to a Dogtoberfest. We drove for over an hour to get there. She had given me a bath the night before and I had on my new polka-dotted collar. It looks so good on me BOL!! Of course I had no idea where we were going. We parked under some trees and I could hear dogs barking from some where. Didn't phase me that much. We got out of the car and started walking to these buildings. Mom said they were for service dogs. The name of the place was St. Francis Service Dogs. They train them there. They were raising money for a new building. We kept walking I was of course in sniff mode. Next thing you know a Boxer dog jumped at me and started barking. Well of course me being the big chicken that I really am I put up my defenses really fast. Mom was fussing at me and telling me to stop. I didn't really want to but finally I got myself maintained. After that mom decided we wouldn't go. She took me to the car and made me stay there so she could go to the restroom. She wasn't gone long. When she came back she was sneezing and watery eyes looked like she was crying. She told me that they had put hay all over the ground for people to walk on. She said also she slipped a couple of times because she had on flip flops. We ended up leaving. Even if she would have decided to take me in she probably would have ended up on the ground BOL!! We heard on the news that they were very successful in raising money. They had over 4,000 people show up and 2,000 dogs.

On the way home we stopped at this store that has pet supplies. I got to go in there with mom. I was really good in there. I saw one little dog. I tried to put up defensives with him but lost interest really quick. I like smaller dogs better than the larger ones. I guess it's because of all the Chihuahuas I live with. Anyway, I ended up with a few treats and some chews. The chews however keep disappearing. Every time I turn around one of those little short legged Chihuahuas is heading under the bed.

Sarday

It's one of those days mom gets to stay home from work. My favorite!Today has been a great day so far. Mom took me walking on the trail like she used to do when I was younger. Mom gets dizzy alot so we haven't been in forever. Well she did great today no problems we walked the whole trail and didn't have to stop and sit a few. Mom was so proud of me walking on the leash. I did perfect except when one little boy went by on a bicycle. I couldn't help but try and get his tire. Mom got really mad at me. I didn't try that anymore. Every time someone passed by and I was good I got a treat. After we finished our walk mom went to the Blockbuster video place and rented us a couple of movies. She said I could lay in the floor and chew on my bone if I didn't care to watch the movie. I'll have to see how I feel later.

Mom bought a new hummingbird feeder yesterday. She said the yellow-jackets were taking over because of the yellow color where the birds drink from. She read that on the internet. So she bought one with no yellow. Well that didn't get rid of the pest. I have been watching to see what would happen for an hour or so this afternoon. I think she wasted her money BOL!!!

Labor Day Weekend

Mom said Labor Day weekend started today. I don't know what that means. She said she gets 3 days off from work. Well that is something to bark about. I love it when she gets to stay home with me. Just one little thing irritates me. Mom and dad were cleaning like crazy today. Dad went to the basement and mom stayed up stairs. She put the birds outside and sprayed the birds and the cages. I stood from a far and watched. I am 2 now and I still can't stand to get wet. Every time mom came out the door I thought we were gonna play ball. She opened the door early this morning a threw 5 tennis balls at me. I thought to myself "JACKPOT". We must have won the lottery. Well nobody has threw the first ball for me. Maybe later!

I don't understand humans. My mom bought what she calls a hummingbird feeder. Well let me tell you she has the hummingbirds flying to the carport. They don't even care if I am there or not. Thoughs little guys are fast. Mom is fasinated with them. She will sit for an hour just watching them. I do get extra pets when she watching so thats a good thing. Today the yellow jackets are trying to take over the feeder. The hummingbirds wings go so fast the bees can't get close enough to sting them. I wish I could hold that fly swatter that mom has near by. I would show those bees a thing or two.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Wow! I can't believe it is 2009. I will be 1 year old soon.

I am so glad the holidays are over. My mom stayed in the stores just a little to much. She did get me somethings but still I would rather have her home. She actually stayed home with us today all day. I love it when she does that. I wanted her to take me for a walk but it has been really cold out. The weatherman said we might get a flake or to tomorrow. Mom says all the snow is just passing on by us. She wants it to snow but not enough to cause problems. I was due for a bath but after mom seen we may get the weather she decided to wait. I am so happy about that. I gotta go eat my dinner. Yum!

Christmas Tree

Well Thanksgiving is over with and I still didn't get any turkey. Mom went to Grandma's house and ate. Well my human Uncle came in from hunting a wiped the leftovers out. I did get a little piece of ham.

Today it has been raining so hard all day. I stayed out for a while and decided to get soaked so mom finally let me in the basement to dry off. I was watching her through the door decorate our tree. Mom hasn't decorated in 3 years. She said she gets sad this time of year for some reason. I told her look " this is my first Christmas" get that tree out and get busy. Now she has stuff everywhere. No place to put all the other junk she has sitting around. Tango the cat has already found a spot on her tree skirt. I don't think she's happy about that because it looks brand new. Wait til I get under there BOL!!

Mom has to go back to work tomorrow. I'm gonna miss her and I know she is gonna miss me.

All About Me

For nine months now I have been thinking that everything is about me. I am so spoiled how could it not be. The weekend was crazy. Mom sat in front of the computer blogging a bunch of cats. My kitty friend Tango got his COTD badge on the Cat Channel Sunday. I finally got her to take me walking. Mom really wanted to take me. She went to Macy's and bought her some warm ear muffs to keep her ears warm. We didn't make it to far on the trail when mom spoke up and said we gotta go back I am freezing. I didn't understand why we had to go back we usually walk a long ways. As soon as we got home she was back on the computer.
She is still on the computer today. She said she's never gonna get caught up. Dial-up is no good BOL!!

Election Day 11/4/08

I hear today is supposed to be a history making day. Mom said it is election day. It's time to get out and vote for a new president. I told her I voted for my Chihuahua friend on the Dog Channel. Mugsy is his name and he is running for President. I really hope he wins. I know things will surely change for all canines then.
Today has been a rainy day. For some reason when I got up this morning I decided I wasn't going to go running around in the yard and get soaking wet. I went out and done my business and headed back on the carport. Mom sure was happy about that.
We got a catalog in the mail today with lots of stuff in it just for doggies. I saw mom turn the corner down on some of the pages. I'm hopin that means presents for me. She was looking at a beautiful rhinestone collar for Christmas.
Mom ordered a new lense for her camera. If she gets me the necklace then we can take lots of pictures BOL!! I don't have the heart to tell her I get tired of taking pictures.

Halloween 08

This morning mom woke up and told me "Happy Halloween Starr". I still don't know what she was talking about. I heard her telling dad about some people at her work dressing up in costumes. She said something about Gilligans Island and Pimps and Ladies of the Night. I didn't hear her mention anything about CLOWNS! I thought CLOWNS were the highlight of Halloween. Yeah! Right! Embarrassment!
I also heard mom telling dad that Starr didn't win the DC contest. I didn't know that I was even in a contest. If I had known maybe I could have did a little campaigning. NOT!!
It is almost bedtime and I have yet to see anything spooky lurking around my house. Boy! Do I have an attitude today BOL!! I'm blaming it on Halloween.

Just Plain Wet!!

Mom told me the weather man said it was gonna rain. It started last night and it has rained most of the day. I decided to go out early and just get soaked. I don't mind the rain a bit but for some reason mom doesn't want to let me back in the house. I kept looking in the front door to see if she was gonna change her mind. Nope! She's not budging. It's finely stopped raining so if I dry off in a bit then I know she'll let me in.
Yesterday when mom got home from work she saw a package that some man had brought and left on the carport. Chelsea and I wanted to open the package before mom got home but we decided we better not. Mom had told my dad the first part of the week that she was gonna order this food bowl called brake-fast for dogs. She said it was a bowl designed for dogs that ate their food really fast. At the time I didn't know she was referring to me. So last night when dinner was served guess who the pretty blue bowl was for. I went in for the kill! The humps in the bowl were in my way. I couldn't scarf it down like usual. I had to take time to eat around the humps. So instead of 15 seconds of eating it took me a minute. I looked back one time and saw a big smirk on mom's face. She thinks she's smart. I will master that bowl to. Then I'll have the smirk BOL!!

WOOD STOVE

Ok! Last weekend my mom decided it was time for me to take photos in my Halloween costume. I didn't know what a Halloween costume was. I wish I still didn't BOL! She came out with this ridiculous looking clown costume. I'm not a clown. I'm a princess. She had this bright idea to blow up balloons and put a pumpkin in the picture. BOL! The balloons lasted through the first picture. A gust of wind came blowing by out of no where. The balloons all blew out in the woods you could here them popping every now and then. Poor mom she tried. After she finished the picture taking she had to go in the woods to find the balloon pieces so I wouldn't swallow them.
Yesterday, mom said she had to work. When she finally came home she told me she had went to the Humane Society 's Halloween party. She could have come and got me but NO she didn't. She told me if she would have known it wasn't gonna be so crowded she would have taken me for sure. Well it's to late now. I forgave her already she gave me some peanut butter treats. Yum!
The weather is getting cooler here. Last night mom ask my dad to build a fire in the wood stove to knock off the chill. I didn't know what she was talking about. I have seen the wood stove but I didn't know what it was. This is my first fall/winter. Dad started the fire and let me tell you! Last night I slept like a baby. I crawled up under my mom's bed and it felt good. When it was time to get up I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it out from under that bed. It's a tight squeeze for me. I just wanted to see what is was like. The Chihuahua's like to get underneath that bed all the time. Not bad!
