Arrival Story:
A friend told us a dog was abandoned on her farm. She couldn't keep her. So she asked us if we wanted her. And we said yes! Years later, we are thankful to have had Pumpkin in our lives. She was the sweetest dog you could imagine. She mothered every animal in the house, and raised a number of them as if they were her's, feline or otherwise. We miss her horribly, but will always love her.

Dog sitting

Well, now that I am finally recovered (I'm still a little gimpy, but I am feeling like a dog again) mom decided to bring home a couple playmates for a few days. I guess her friend asked her to dog sit. The pups she brought home are Kima, Nani's mommy, and her pal Aiko, a hyper, non-cat friendly pup. I'm sad because this means the kittens have to stay in mom's room all day, and I miss my Jezabel.
Aiko and Kima are cool to play with, but the house became smallish very quickly. Imagine 5 big dogs and three cats in a 1500 sq ft house. Yikes! Good thing it is only a 5 day stint with these girls.

Healing is a day by day deal.

I never realized how slowly healing would happen. It only took that truck a split second to hit me, and yet it is taking forever for my legs to heal. My swelling has come down, and I am feeling hungry again. I have been told that is a good sign.
I am starting to get around much better (an even better sign in my opinion), but I don't like going outside at all. Mom and Dad have to carry me out to my potty spot or else I won't leave the porch. Dad wasn't very happy that I have been peeing on the porch, but it rinses so I have no idea what his problem is. I mean, at least I am peeing outside!
Meanwhile Bleu and Nani are starting to get impatient. They want to play, but I'm just not up to it yet. It looks like fun, and maybe in a couple days I'll be ready to play again. For now, I'm just happy to hang out on my bed and relax.

Well, the morphine patch came off this morning. Dad scared me when he pulled it off. He really shouldn't sneak up on me like that!

I walked by myself this morning. It was a real chore, but I did it! I was so proud of myself. It hurt like crazy, and I'm a little wobbly, but I'd much rather walk on my own than have that stupid towel under my backside. That thing is really silly looking.

Dad gave me a waterless bath today. He said I smelled really bad, but now I think I smell worse. Nothing better than dirty doggie and fake flowers! Makes my nose itchy.

I've been relaxing most of the morning, and really just want to be left alone, but Bleu and Nani want my attention. I snapped at Nani to get her to leave me alone, and she yelped like I tore her head off. What a drama queen!
