My hurt paw

I should listen to mommy when she tells me not to attempt to jump the neighbors fence when the puppy is there, but I get so excited and want to play with it.
That is what happened on New Years Eve the one last puppy and her parents, which happen to be my parents too, were outside and I wanted to go over. Most of the time mommy lets me go over and some times I am a little naughty and just jump over the fence. This time mommy told me stay in the yard. I was so excited that when mommy went inside I started to jump the fence and caught my left paw on some fencing breaking 3 nails and having blood everywhere.
Jack my schnauzer brother starts barking like crazy and that makes mom come outside, she sees my paw that I cannot walk on and knows that I tried to jump the fence.
Mommy cleans me up and gets the bleeding to stop but she puts in a call to the vet because one of the nails is semi torn.
Off to the vet mommy and daddy and one of my brothers Jason take me. The vet looks at my left paw and says the remaining nail will fall off on its own but I am put on amoxicillian for 7 days and she wraps up my paw and give mom more wraps to change me every day.
That night I slept in Jasons bed hogging up the entire bed. BOL
My paw is still a little sore but I am able to walk on it and mom is waiting for the nail to fall off.

The passing of my pal Miles

Yesterday around 4pm our family cat Miles passed away at home. I really loved Miles. Some dogs and cats don't get along but Miles and I did.
When I was 5 weeks old my human mom took me to meet the new family. I met Jack the mini schnauzer and we hit it off, then while I was inside the house I saw the most fluffly thing I have every seen in my 5 weeks. Miles was just sitting there so I gave him a big wet slobbery kiss on the face and then Miles hissed at me I then gave him another slobbery kiss and then we became fast friends.
Our favorite place to sleep and snuggle was in our human brother Joe's bedroom. Everyday after the kids were off to school I would hop on the bed give Miles his kiss then snuggle with him.
Let me tell you how Miles joined the family. One very hot day in the end of July 2002, Joe had just finished playing a game a basketball with his friends. They decided to come and sit at the deck, by the deck is our wood pile that we use for the winter season. Joe thought he had heard a faint cry by the woodpile so he and his 5 friends went to investigate. Sure enough they heard it again. Something was buried in our woodpile. The boys moved pieces and pieces of wood after 25 minutes they found 6 very hot and skinny kittens. Someone was so mean they put they kittens in the wood pile to die. How can someone be so mean and heartless. Each one of Joes friends called their parents and they each took a kitten and we kept Miles. They vet estimated they were born around the 4th of July and gave us special formula for the kitten since we never found the mother.
The past three weeks Miles had hasn't been his normal self. He hasn't been eating like he normally does and was sleeping most of the day. he wasn't in any pain. He just feel asleep in his favorite spot Joe's bed and that is where he took his last breath.
Mom and the kids buried him under his favorite evergreen in the backyard.
Miles I will miss you. Enjoy the Rainbow Bridge my friend.

My vet visit

After Jack was seen by the vet it was my turn. I weighed in at a even 72 pounds which the vet said was good for me, she doesn't want me to get very bulky stating it will be harmful to my legs and joints but I can still gain more weight. She felt my tummy, listened to my heart, liked my pearly white teeth( buffalo marrow bones) I also had blood work done. Then came my shots which I didn't mind. The thing I did mind was mom and dad decided to have me microchipped. Jack is microchipped and when mom had me neutered she told the receptionist she wanted me microchipped also, but when mom paid the bill she noticed it wasn't on the bill and I was already in the Tahoe.
So mom said next time I came to the vet she would have me chipped. Mom says it's a good thing. In case anyone every attempts to say that I belong to them mom now has proof , aside from all the papers she keeps on us dogs.
The vet declared me a healthy dog and said I could go off the large breed puppy food. Since I had been dealing with digestive issues since a puppy mom has decided to stay with the Wellness but now I am doing the Wellness CORE.
