Last week when I was at Julia's house, I inadvertently peed on their couch. I DID have my pee belt on, but I peed so much that it leaked and ran all over me and the couch.
Then, Mom realized I had been peeing in the bedroom here, too, so she took me to the clinic on Friday when she took Lola for her c-section. Well, of course I wouldn't pee on command, or on leash, for that matter, hehehe! So, the vet stuck that stupid tube up my you know what and collected my pee pee that way.
She checked it and didn't see any bacteria, but there were some casts, whatever those are. Soo, she did an ultrasound of my bladder and my kidney's and called Mom to tell her that my bladder looked "funny". She also took my blood, but that was good cuz I DO NOT have kidney disease like they thought before!!!
Anyway, they decided to send off my pee pee to see what those casts are. After almost a WHOLE WEEK went by, the report came back and it didn't tell us NUTHIN'. Apparently, the casts are abnormal cells, abnormal sized and abnormal shapes, and they found no bacteria, either. OF course, they need another test, VERY EXPENSIVE, to figure out what the abnormal cells are!
The vet said the abnormal cells are one of two things, the first being some type of cancer and the second being some type of chronic bladder inflamation. Well, hello, I have had bladder infections for the last TWO years, that sounds chronic to me! But, she said there was no bacteria, which is what a bladder infection is.
Sooo, she and Momsie decided to give it another week then repeat the ultrasound and the in office urinalysis. If there are further changes in my bladder shape/size, we will have to assume I have the big C and go from there with further testing. IF I have a UTI with bacteria, then they will give me antibiotics all the time instead of just when I am peeing in the house.
Sounds like a plan to me. I sure hope it's chronic bladder infections cuz I HATE those antibiotics and Momsie gets quite creative with the stuff she hides them in...MMMMmmmmmm!
