SNOW, YUCK!!!

Ok, so I woke up the other day and there was some snow on the ground. Ok, no big deal. I like running and playing with Liberty and Jasper. I wake up the next day and BAM! and there's even more white stuff right up to my belly and it COLD!!!! Dang, it's really COLD!!!!!!!!! And Liberty, she's crazy, she just jumps in to it and runs through it like it's nothing. She's crazy.

My first day at Doggie Day Camp

DUDE it was so cool! So many dogs to sniff and play with. I made a ton of new friends to play with. We were having a great time when all of a sudden mom (Liberty) got that look in her eyes, man that's not a good one either. I thought she would be ok and get over it. I went on to play with some of the others and when I turned around mom was walking out of the playroom with a lady. I wonder were she was going to. So many butts to sniff and friends to make. This is really cool!..... I wonder where mom is?
Gotta go and play some more.

Meeting my Vet

This has been a exciting couple of days at the new house. I can come and go as I please in the house and I don't have to stay in the crate all the time and if I do want to go in the crate, there is ROOM TO STRETCH OUT....ALL THE WAY. WOW! That's a nice feeling.

And the grass in the back yard where I can walk from one yard to the next, where Jasper lives. He's a nice guy.

My furever mom went and bought us a pool b/c it's so hot and sticky outside. I'm not allowed to go in b/c of my operation but my mom, Liberty goes in and walks around. I just drink the cold water.

I went to meet my new doctor today...boy is it hot outside, glad the car has A/C. Dr. Fisher is really nice and so are the ladies at the office.

When I went in the door everyone was there to meet me. All the girls came up and told me how cute I was and I greeted them with wags and kisses b/c I knew they were nice.

I had to go on the scale and be weighed. I really didn't watn to go on but I knew I had to. WOW mom was suprised by how much I actually weighed, 70.8 lbs. She says I'm going to be a big girl once I fill out.

Mom and I went into a room and pretty soon a couple of nice ladies came in and they gave me treats and hugged me and they one of them stuck me with something and took some of my blood. I was brave though, I didn't even flinch. Then they gave me some more treats. Not bad.

Then came Dr. Fisher, she said she want's to take me home. :o ) She gave me pets and I gave her kisses. I could tell she's a nice lady. She looked in my ears and told mom said I might need some meds for my ears and she put something in my ear and tested it. Then she stuck me too with a needle in by back leg but I got more treats. Not bad. She gave me belly rubs and noticed that my tummy was zooing a pinkish liquid and told mom I had to wear something around my neck so I couldn't lick it and clean it and that she wanted me to take some meds for that too.

after all the poking and sticking and all the treats I got more hugs and gave out more kisses and we said good bye. I'm pooped from all the hugs and treats and meeting new people. I need a nap.

We went to the vet yesterday and they love her and she them. Our poor girl has a yeast infection in her ears, from not being cleaned for who knows how long. And they were gross. The one shelter that did the spaying , only put 2, two, stitches for a 1 1/2" incision and it was ozzing a lite pink fluid from the site. I thought Dr. Fisher was going to flip out. I think the ASPCA's vet will be getting a call soon. She doesn't want Freedom licking it and getting it infected. So, two anibiotics for that the ozzing stuff and ear cleaning stuff and ear medication and a 12 mo. supply of heartworm meds I'm $205 lighter. But I know she will be a happier and healthier dog for it. All this b/c people don't take care of their animals and shouldn't be allowed to have animals.

She's looking good and gainning weight. Her ribs aren't as pronounced as the day I brought her home. She's eating all her food.

We just love her and the two are getting along great.

MY FOREVER HOME WITH MOM!!

Wow the nice lady, she came today and took me for a ride. Before I left I Pam came out and gave me a hug and kiss. That was odd b/c she never did that before. I couldn't figure out why she did that b/c I was coming back.....or at least I thought I was.
The nice lady put on a pretty pink collar on and had a matching lead and we went for a walk around the park again. It was a really nice day out too. I was really tired and the nice lady picked me up put me in her car. Then she put a harness on me and we drove away from my house.... Where are we going?

It was nice in the car and she had music on, it was nice. I just laid down and took a nap. We stopped and I met some new people and walked around and got fed and I got back into the car and went to a nice house with a yard. I saw the dog that I met once before, she was there and wagging her tail when she saw me. The nice lady took me out of the car.

We did a lot of sniffing....you know the dog thing and then mom showed me around the yard. WOW the grass is green and it's soft and BIG. Then mom took me in the house. That was nice. Mom showed me my crate, it had a water bowl and a bed in it with some toys. WOW how lucky am I.

The nice lady and man were in the kitchen and they were putting food in a orange ball and some in a dish. Mom and I just stood there watching. Mom got the ball and I had to go in my new crate and eat. That's ok b/c mom wanted my food too. Man that nice lady is a good cook.

After we ate we walked around the house some more and got belly rubs and pets. It was really nice. We went out and walked around the yard some more. Mom wanted to play a little but I didn't feel too good. I'm still a little sore from the surgery the other day. They took that ugly lump off my neck and they did something to my tummy too. I just wanted to go to sleep again.

When we went in the nice lady told mom to "go to bed" and she ran up the stairs. I fallowed her up but she went in my soft crate. I thought "but mom there isn't enough room for the two of us. So I laid down of the soft bed next to it. The nice lady came up and she made us switch places and gave us each a cookie and then zipped me in. Wow this is a soft bed not like the hard ground or floor I'm use to. This is nice.

Today I woke up to a sweet voice opening up my soft crate and mom's tail wagging hitting the wall so I did it too. It's so quiet here, not like the other place where everyone is barking all the time and coming and going. We went out and walked around the yard and did our business and then it was breakfast time. YUMMMMM. I didn't eat all mine. The nice lady came down stairs after breakfast and we went out again. Mom saw a bird in the yard and showed me how to chase it. We didn't catch it b/c it flew off. That was fun.

When we got in the house the music was playing and I had a treat waiting for me in my crate. The nice lady put a sheet over my crate so I can rest and eat my treat.

This is a nice place I hope I can stay here.....I think they like me....it's nice here, quiet.

The nice lady said this is my FOREVER HOME.

I'm home.

So close to Freedom......

Oh my time is close I can just feel it, my days are numbered here in the shelter I can just feel it. My human friends moved me to another area. The little guys next to me is a jumper and a barker and he's LOUD.

There's a big bully down the way. He just moves things when someone comes in the kennel area and has a really mean, big bark.

I'm really hungry too. they say I can't eat because I'm having surgery...whatever that is.

OH my friend the nice lady came into day to visit and take me for a walk. I really missed her yesterday. She said she was sorry that she didn't come to see me. she gave me a kiss on the head and logs of belly rubs.

That and I like my new name so much so that everytime she said it I would turn and look at her. I really like the sounds of it, Freedom. I really like it.

I can wait to see my new home. Just a few more days. I get more excited when I think of it, home.

That nice lady came again today and she brought some awesome, yummmy treats. Then we went out to the back room of the shelter. She gave me another treat and them picked me up and put me in this white thing. Then she turned on some water and she got me wet. Can you believe it...I thought she was nice. Anyways then she put some nice smelling stuff and gave me belly rubs and back scratches and it felt so good. then she got that hose thing out again and she got me wet again! Yeah she gave me a cookie but she got me wet! This time the water was gray and icky looking. She did that till the water was clear. Then she helped me out and gave me more rubs this time with a towel. WOW that felt good. After I was dry we went for a nice walk in the park and talked. It was fun. We sat under the tree for a little bit and got more pets and belly rubs.

The nice lady said I stand like my mom and that maybe I can teach mom how to walk with a leash.

It was a great day.

I wonder where she is. I didn't see the nice lady today. I wonder where she could be. I hope I didn't make her mad yesterday.

Waiting...

Well here I sit waiting. Waiting and watching. Watching people come and go. The stop and look and say how cute is she. Or OOO she looks mean. Sometimes I see others dogs come and go. Some are big, some are small. Some are quiet, some just don't stop barking.

One day a lady came in and stopped and bent down and told me you are going to go home soon. One of my human friends took us into a visiting room. I was so nervious I just pasted back and forth. I was a fraid of her her hand when she reached out to touch my fur. After a few mins. I thought I'd take a chance and let her touch my fur. Wow she was nice, she wasn't hurtful, she had a soft touch. I thought maybe I'll let her pet me to see if this is really true. WOW she's really nice.

The nice lady left. I'm here sitting and waiting. Watching strangers come and go

Waiting, waiting, waiting....

Who is coming now? WOW! it's the nice lady again and she has treats for me. I like her. She said soon I will be going home. I wonder what she means, I've heard that a few times here. We got to go in the visiting room again and I let her pet me more today. She has such a nice easy touch. She's really nice. She's called me sweetie and cutie. She's really nice.

I might let her rub my belly, I haven't had a lot of that but I know I liked it. WOW she's good at belly rubbing....wow my tail even started to wag while she rubbed my belly.

What she stopped...why? The nice lady left again but she said she would be back. I don't like it when she leaves she's so nice.

Another day and more of the samething different day. People come and people go.

One of my Human friends put something on my door. A-D-O-P-T-E-D, I wonder what that means, humm

I'm a good girl, wag and smile for the people. This is not fun waiting for someone to come.

HEY IT'S HERE THE NICE LADY!!!!! MORE BELLY RUBS I HOPE!!!!!!

Oh here we go to the visiting room. She's no nice. She's got more treats for me, they are really yummy. She keeps telling me soon I can go home from this place. She told me that tomorrow will will meet someone special. I wonder who that could be.....oh I really like the way she gives belly rubs, she so kind and nice.

She took me back to my room for dinner and some people came in and one lady said I'd like to take her home and the nice lady told her, no, she's going to go home with her mom. WHAT?!?! MY MOM!?!?!

Then the nice lady left...

I can't wait to see her again tomorrow. I'm so excited, I think she likes me.

Still Here

Another day of waiting and watching people and dogs come and go. Some stop and some just pass by. I'm a good girl. I'm sitting pretty and being well behaved why doesn't anyone want to take me home like they do some of the others?

Waiting isn't easy, days are long her in this small room.

OOOO good here comes one of my human friends. OH GOOD IT'S MY TURN. Oh I love going for a walk in the park here, so many smells and sounds. It's nice to stretch my legs and feel the grass under my paws rather then hard earth. Thank you for taking me for a walk my human friend.

I thought I was going for another walk b/c Luis came back to get me but when I got in the hall way there was another dog that looked like me there with the nice lady and some man. Luis took me into the big room. Oh here comes that other dog w/ the nice lady and man. WOW he's tall.

That dog is nice, she's really pretty and she smells good too.
Sniff, sniff, sniff, sniff. Wow she's nice. I went and visited the nice lady and nice dog didn't mind that she rubbed my belly.

Luis gave her something and I went to see what it was she let me sniff it and then walked away with it. She didn't even growl at me. WOW I think she likes me.

She wagged her tail and walked around the room with me while the others talked. I heard my friend, Luis, sSheay something about, no problems they seem fine with each other even with the rawhide. I think that's a good thing......I hope so.

Ok, Luis I have to go back and eat lunch. Thanks for coming nice lady and man and pretty dog and visiting me. See you later.

That was exciting meeting. What a nice suprise. I'm excited, I have a new family. I'm going home soon.

I don't feel too good today. I keep sneezing. I really not that hungry this moring either. I hope I'm not getting sick.

I'm waiting for the nice lady to come for our daily visit.

OH HERE SHE COMES!!!!

More belly rubs and petting. She really is nice and gentle. She said something about going home soon. WOW, it's true I'm going to have a new house soon.

The nice lady said that I didn't have to worry about having anymore babies. I was retired. I've had a lot of kids, I'm tired. I worry about them too. I hope they are ok and have good homes....better then the one I...... I hope .....Please God let my babies be safe, loved and happy.
