Hi everyone! It's me again; I'm back with some more of Java's jawings. I just wanted to tell everyone about my fun and busy schedule. Well, first of all, I must say that I was quite surprised and delighted to hear that I was picked as one of the Daily Diary picks today. I share the honor today with Benny, Obi, Sully & Socks and Pooh Bear. I am going to read all of their diary entries as soon as I finish writing in my diary today. I did read Pooh Bear's diary entry though and see that he has been having some health problems and it has been discovered that he has cancer. His Mommy has switched him to raw food along with vitamins and supplements rather than to opt for cancer treatments. We do hope and pray that Pooh Bear has good luck with his new diet and that he will beat that nasty ole cancer.
Power of the paw to you Pooh and we will keep you in our prayers and wish you good luck with your recovery. All of the doggies here on dogster are such nice doggies and we appreciate their friendship and fun. We do enjoy reading about all of the other doggie's fun and frolics and their lives at home with their humans and other fur sibs. There are many very interesting stories on all of these pages. You know, most of us doggies and the kitties on Catster are very lucky to have such wonderful humans to love and care for us. And they know how lucky they are to have us to share their love and lives too. It is a win-win situation, don't you think?
Well, after being surprised this morning by my award, I was also surprised and pleased to find that I had received a beautiful bouquet of tulips from friends Walker, Alexandria, Molly, Pookah and all of their kitties. Inside the tulip gift was a note that said: Congrats Java on being a DDP!. We all hope that you have a great day! Enjoy the tulips and have a Happy Easter also. Love & wags and they all signed their names. Now wasn't that nice? They are such a nice family and always thinking of others. I do so appreciate the gift and I absolutely love the tulips. Mommy knows first-hand how I love tulips because I am always tip-toeing in her tulip bed and lying down amongst the pretty flowers. Hmmm, I still haven't figured out why that upsets her sometimes, but she is always chasing me out of the flower bed. Hasn't she ever heard about stopping to smell the flowers?
I also received a very special and large golden bone from a kitty friend Mojo and her furmily. Mojo is married to my kitty sib, Tuffy. She is furry nice for a feline. Hee Hee! Anyhow, she has a very large feline family and a couple of doggies too. Boy, I hafta say that I do feel sorry for those doggies being so outnumbered by all those cats. But it was so very sweet of Mojo and her family to send me such a nice gift. Inside was a note that said: Congrats on your DDP honor! We are so proud of you! Then it had the words CONGRATULATIONS in big bright and pretty colors with little confetti like things falling all around it. It was very nice. Then it was signed with lots of love and woofs and meows. Mojo and family. Ahhh, it is so sweet to have such nice and thoughtful friends.
Besides my award and special gifts it has also been a most rewarding day. You see Mommy got a phone call earlier and while she was on the phone talking, Pickles (my other feline sib) hopped up on her lap. Well, I did some serious thinking about that situation and I decided that this was an ideal opportunity for a little fun. I had Pickles right where I wanted her. She thought that she was safe by being on Mommy's lap but I could see that Mommy was occupied with her phone conversation. So I just sauntered right on up to Pickles and stuck my nose in her face. Hee Hee! You should have seen that cat go into action. I tell you, she laid her ears so flat against her head that I could not even see that she had ears. Then she began to spit and hiss and punch with both front feet. BOL! Well, by now, Mommy was getting a little upset with both of us and she made me back off. This gave Pickles just enough time to jump down and run behind the chair. Well, shoot! That ended my fun game right then and there; so it was on to something else to do.
Ah Ha! I found that luscious black soil that Mommy had just used to repot her houseplant. So I stuck my nose into the dirt and began to burrow through it. Mommy was not happy to see that; so she scolded me and told me to get out of there. So I ever so gleefully, went over to Mommy and put my head up against her to show my love and affection. She did not seem pleased that I got some of that really black soil smudged on her nice clean shirt. Oops!
Well, the next thing I knew, I found myself outdoors all by myself. Now how did that happen? Well, no use wasting time. I trotted all around the barn searching for any interesting smells and then went to check on the chickens. Yep! Everything is ok there but it had started to snow so I traipsed back up on the deck and looked sad so that Mommy would open the door and let me back inside. Bingo! It works everytime when I give my sad and forlorn "cold doggie" look. Hee Hee!
So I am back inside where it is nice and warm but everyone seems to be busy with something. Dad is in the basement listening to his ham radio. Mmmm, did he say ham? (Wish he'd share with me). And Mommy is busy pounding on that thing that she calls a keyboard. So what is a young energetic dog like me to do for a little entertainment? I know! I'll steal the cat bed and make Mommy chase after me. Nope! Didn't work. She caught me in the doorway and took it away from me before I could get very far. Ahhh, a nice pair of pink and yellow sandals just sitting there all alone (just like me). Guess that I will keep them company. Mmmm, kind of tasty! Oops! Mommy spotted me and grabbed the shoes away from me too. Well, what is she thinking leaving her shoes lay around like that anyhow? And WHO, may I ask, would wear pink and yellow shoes anyhow? What is this woman thinking? Has she no style at all? Hmmpff! Well, if I can't restyle those ugly shoes, I guess that I will just go and take a nice long nap. That way I can stay out of trouble and in the meantime I will be dreaming about my great day. Ahhh, a nice long snooze after receiving a special award and those neat gifts from my friends. What more could a doggie want? Life is good. Zzzzz Zzzzz Zzzzz Pleasant dreams to all of you dogster and catster furriends. Woof Woof!
