Arrival Story:
Tori was brought into American Brittany Rescue. She was a puppy mill female who spent the majority of her day in a concrete enclosure bordered by a wood fence. Tori and her mate both arrived with their front teeth ground down to the gum line. She has no front teeth from her k-9 teeth forward. She had absolutely no hair from her shoulder blades back. I was originally just her "foster mom". But after the six months it took to make her healthy again, I could not let her go. We adopted her in December 2007. Shortly after that I had health problems and required a service dog. She is in an owner trained service dog program. Essentially Tori has allowed me to regain some independence.

We love ABR. ABR saved me.

Back to NY

We went back to NY. This time it was so that mom could be there for Auntie Maggie's wedding. I loved the freedom there since I had 5 acres and an invisible fence. I had never experienced that kind of fence before. I DO NOT LIKE the beep beep beep then the ZAP! OUCH!. It hurt.

The plane ride was ok but mom says we are not flying United again. They were not very accommodating to us since I had to work. Remember I am a working dog. My job is to be mom's Service Dog and help her out.

We are back in WA now. Thank God! I like being home, I missed Buster and the kids.

Talk to you soon,
Tori SD

The Trip to the VA

Today, we went to the VA trying to get a prescription so that Tori can finally be certified as my service dog. Needless to say the medical professionals at the VA are under trained and have too many patients per provider.

One receptionist apparently was allergic to dogs, so when I went in to the doctor's office she asked me to wait outside even though two other service dogs were in the same office. The nerve of some people. Not only was she rude but she treated Tori unjust by allowing the other two service dogs into the office.

On a better note. We are flying to NY Monday to see my brand new nephew. I also get to see Abbie NeNe (my god daughter). It will be her first flight and my first flight with her. I can't wait. Look for pictures after the trip.
