Arrival Story:
I am a volunteer dog transporter. We help transport dogs that are pulled from kill shelters and are being taken to various rescues around the country. In mid-April, I was asked if I could help out with a transport of a BBD (big black dog). I couldn't. I had two others lined up that weekend. Somehow, both of those fell through (one didn't need me; the other got changed to a time when I couldn't do it) and I was able to help out transporting this dog. She had been pulled one day before she was scheduled to be euthanized in an Ohio shelter. As soon as I met her, I knew that she was the right dog for us! I did help her off to her rescue, but immediately contacted them when she was placed on petfinder.com. After filling out an application, having references checked, and all that, the rescue agreed that my partner and I were the perfect people for her! She came home to us on May 17!
