Bio:
My mommy knew she wanted to get a Bichon after her other dog Pansie died, but she didn't want to get one from a breeder. She works at a local animal shelter and knows first hand just how much pet overpopulation there is! She looked for months for a rescue dog, but couldn't find one that met her needs. Since she has Birds at home, it would need to be a dog that either lived with birds previously or a puppy that could be trained to leave them alone. After months of looking, it seemed as though no one had an unwanted dog like that... So she answered a newspaper ad for Cavachon puppies, since she also really likes Cavaliers. She requested that pictures be emailed to her, but the nice man on the phone said he didn't have a computer. After driving 2 hours to a town near Lancaster, PA and reaching her destination on a large cow farm, she found out why - The people who had raised me were Amish! They were a very sweet family, and my mommy didn't feel as bad buying a dog from them, since this was part of their farming life and one of the only ways they had to support themselves. Oh yeah, and there was that part where she accidentally backed my Grandmom's car into their Amish horse carriage that was parked in the driveway and dented in one side a little.... but in her defense it was 7pm on a December night during a new moon so it was pitch black out and the carriage was black, and since they ARE Amish, they didn't have driveway lights..... !!
