My Baby Passed Away Today

My youngest of four passed away today. I found her outside not breathing. She wrapped her chain around a tree, got tangled, and... you know the rest. It was her chain, not the collar. She just turned one year's old not too long ago. I am so choked up right now. And whats worse is that I am here at work. I guess its better than being at home. Maybe its better this way. I do feel like going home and cutting that stupid tree down! She was fine earlier. I dont understand why she had to go so soon.

My adventure to a new home....

My name is Dakota. I was found at the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter in a cage all alone. My mommy came by for two days to see if anyone claimed me. Finally she decided to adopt me. She was skeptical at first, because they labeled me as a Pit-bull. Being that she raised Boxers before, she was able to tell that I wasnt. I was originally adopted Feb 17th but my mommy couldnt take me home right away. I had an respitory chest infection. The shelter kept asking if mom still wanted to adopt me. We think one of the workers wanted me for himself. He fostered me until I got better. With every question came the answer yes! Just after i got better I had an aweful surgery. Mom says it was for the best. That way there wont be too many of me without homes. I finally got to go home and meet my brother and sisters on April the 4th. It was a long wait, but I am happy and healthy now.
