OK – I know…it’s a weird name for a dog but in our rescue group we refer to Chloe as the “beagle on steroids†LOL. That’s really not quite accurate but for those who are not “in the know†here is the scoop on just what a TWC (treeing walker coonhound) is:
Their lifespan is 12-14 years. Their average height is approx 20 inches tall (beagles are closer to 15 inches). The standard weight is approx 50 lbs (and while it sounds like a lot of dog we know PLENTY of beagles that tip the scales close to that). Like Beagles, originally these dogs were bred to hunt small critters like raccoons and squirrels so true to her breed, Chloe has a fairly good sniffer and likes to follow it. She is great with kids, she likes other dogs and she is really deserving of a great furrever home. People who have met her at events can’t get over how sweet she is so we’re a bit baffled as to why we can’t find that special family to adopt her.
Chloe is crate trained, house trained to a schedule and LOVES almost everyone she meets. We know she would do wonderfully in a home with an active couple where she could get plenty of exercise and attention! Having another dog in the home would be a plus and someplace with a decent amount of property would be ideal – an apartment would be too confining for this girl. Oh and we want to tell you – Chloe LOVES to cuddle, so be prepared to be hugged by this girl.
Please don’t pass Chloe by. She is really a great dog and her photos simply don’t do her justice. I've Been On Dogster Since:
