Birthday: December 14th 2003 Likes: getting up every morning, playing with her brother Marlowe, laying in the sun, chasing squirrels away from the bird feeder and playing with the big dogs at the dog park Pet-Peeves: Marlowe taking her toys, and what basenjis hate most.....rain Favorite Toy: Matty the Mouse, her brother Marlowe, stuffed bunny and laser light and egg baby "eggs" Favorite Food: whip cream Favorite Walk: around the neighborhood in the morning when all is quiet and there are squirrels everywhere Best Tricks: walking nice....as long as there's a treat involved Arrival Story: We were looking for a playmate for Marlowe and wanted another Basenji. We needed a female as we had two males in the house already, and wanted a tri. I contacted local breeders and was put on a waiting list before any litters were born. I got a call that another breeder had just gotten a litter of 6....5 females. I called and had to be put on a list....it didn't look good. Luckily for us someone changed their mind and we got our baby girl. And she is the sweetest little B. Bio: Full name, Astarte's Cheyenne Moon with pips. Cheyenne has the sweetest disposition and so far is a very subdued basenji. She climbs on every piece of furniture and has been known to chew things up but when you catch her doing something wrong she gives an innocent look rather than "I did it because I wanted to " look. I guess she's got me fooled. She plays with her brother Marlowe all the time but it's Dakota she follows around. Poor thing, he's so old and crabby he does nothing but yell at her.........yet every morning he's the first one she goes over to, and the one she wants to sleep by at night........................
Cheyenne took Dakota's death very bad, but has bounced back with the help of Marlowe. She is looking forward to having a little brother or sister Basenji join our family this winter. Thank you Poncho for tagging me with love. You know we think the world of you too.
Once tagged, please tag three other pooches and write why you love them in your diary
I'm tagging...Stormie Basenji...my cous. He and his pack are amazing and funny too! They are always there to lend and ear or a virtual hug....I love them to pieces
Then of course Talker....He loves me for me...even if I am a little snarky. He and his pack are wonderful and I'm so grateful to call them friends!
I'll keep this all in the Basenji family...
My last tag is for the tallest basenji I know....Patan. And I mean tall! He's HUGE. He and his pack keep me barooing and you gotta love that! I'm so happy to know them!
My friends Lexi and Miles signed up for the Pet Fiesta Day at Reston Town Center....... (for those in DC, you've gotta get in on this!). They've also signed up to help homeless doggies find loving homes. Being that Miles was once homeless, he knows how much they need us!! I have exciting news! It's taken me a couple days to calm down enough to write this. I made my first big kill the other day! Yep, got me a pigeon! I had SO much fun but for some reason Mom didn't seem impressed. I guess she was a little shocked to see the yard covered in feathers and finding that bird leg while cleaning up. But the most shocking for her was evidently finding me sitting on their bed with my prize. I just wanted to show them what a good little hunter I was.... we'll never go hungry with me in the house! Mom didn't see it that way. She made me get off the bed and she took my prize and threw it in that big black box in the yard. I guess I'll just have to get myself another one!
