Tales from a really cute Shih Tzu
I have really bad allergiesFebruary 1st 2013 4:43 pm[ Leave A Comment | 3 people already have ]
Momma took me to the dogtor because I am scratching my self raw. I also rub my ears on the carpet. Now, I have always had bad allergies since mom got me from the shelter. In fact, that's why my first people gave me away. They couldn't afford all the vet bills. (Mom can't either) So mom knew I had issues when she took me home. Well, they seem to be getting worse. For a long time, I went to the vet every 3 months for shots of cortisone and it helped, but this time, it hasn't helped at all.

There are other allergy foods available that cost less that you might want to try. Here is a link (I hope it works) to a site with some options.. More food options MWAH!!! Coco Rose Well, I gots allergies, too, so I understands whut you're going through. I'm on allergy shots (I'm allergic to all kindsa pollens, dust, etc.) and they helped a lot at first, I haven't had any ear infections since I started them. Last fall (2011) I got really bad-- I'm scratch and chew myself bloody. So Momma went to a holistic vet and I gets some supplements from him. They seem to be helping quite a bit. The hair grew back on my front legs and is growing back on my hind legs. What helps me is frequent baths to wash the pollens, etc, off... every other day I gets a bath. As far as food, I don't think that fancy food is gonna do whut you need it to... try some grain free foods.... Merrick makes some, some does California Natural... be sure to stay away from grains if your allergies are food related. Switch up what kind of protein you eat..try salmon, buffalo, kangaroo.... if you are food allergic, eating the same kinda food all the time is not a good thing. Hope I helped ya some.... Sorry you has allergies, dey really suck! |
